I love Sheila’s accent, Sergeant’s rocket launchers, Bentley’s choice of words, and Agent 9’s fascination for shooting rhynocs. I tell ya, this game had something to enjoy about every character!
Looking back the Sorceress is rather underrated. I wish that she had done more in this game or had come back in another game. Plus she was a pretty difficult too. compared to Gnasty Gnorc. Although I would have loved to see her team with Ripto.
eternal1990 I think, someone should make HD sequel to the YotD. With same cute looking characters. I'll buy it for 40$. These custscenes made me nostalgie so much, even I completed the game 4 times.
That would be awesome. While Ripto's Rage was my favorite of the original trilogy this game is great too. The original series needs a better sequal than enter the dragonfly or a hero's tail. Maybe someday though
I feel like Red, The first realm, gnasty gnorc, dragonfly falls, the final levels, and having moneybags actually be helpful were the only good things about a heros tail.
Yeah, I think if Reignited was a Remaster & Remake….Mini Bosses against Bianca would have been a good way to spice things up. She would show up in certain levels of the game.Her level portals could be represented by a Magic Hat with Bunny Ears, and she would show up in the following levels for a boss fight: - Cloud Spires - Icy Peak - Lost Fleet - Crystal Islands I feel like each of these fights could incorporate elements of the Boss Fights in the game to get people ready for the boss fight of that world.
Takes me back staying up at 2am to play this game when i had school at like 8 the next morning. Miss great storytelling like this, ah the good old days!
I think y'all are putting nostalgia above the game itself. The original trilogy is still a masterpiece of gaming, and always will be. God forbid *I* of all people say something negative about this series; I'd soon castrate myself with an iron rod than be negative about the original trilogy. But it lacks the polish and finesse of the Remasters. The voice acting was intentionally hammy, because that's just what video games did back then. Take a look at Crash Bandicoot, nobody takes a villain like Cortex seriously, but it's the performance from Clancy Brown. Same goes for Spyro. Greg Berger and Tom Kenny are having the time of their lives, because that's just what they do. If this series released today, the voice acting would be blasted to shit and you're lying to yourself if you think otherwise. Not to mention the fact the mini-games have no real difficulty curve and range from mind-numbingly easy to HOLY SHIT, CALM THE FUCK DOWN hard. And as for lack of emotion? I don't what you guys are smoking to come up with that... But can I have some??
Love the voices of Tom Kenny did Spyro, Sgt Bird, The Professor, & Other Characters on this Game. Love this game so much. Been playing and also beating it nearly 20 years. Great memories.
As a 7 year old kid the minute I saw bianca change into her good girl form I literally thought this was a game for older kids i was worried my parents would see her lol
Well at least she was tame. Someone would have caught on to who Tara the Mouse from Desert Ruins is based on. And that level also had a Crash Bandicoot nod.

Spyro: Ripto’s Rage was the very first Spyro game I’ve ever played growing up. I was about 5 years old. Still holds a special place in my heart. 💜🧡💛I have Spyro Reignited Trilogy and I wish there was a way to play the games in the “retro” (original) style. I loved the music in the original games better than the reignited version.

Well graphics were really cool for that time and I still think original Spyro and Crash don't look bad at all even now. Movements are so slick and detailed that even Reignited Spyro doesn't look THAT natural like the original one (yet).
Man the game ending is rushed. There even no cutscene with Spyro actually meeting Sorceress! And she doesn't even appear once, but twice and both times she's like...those mini-bosses from other levels, randomly waiting for you behind some kind of door. Also she hardly had her own theme song and makes those in-human noices when you beat the crap out of her. It's like Insomniac really had no time left on her.
In a flashback, the dragon that Sorceress banished look like Astor. I wonder how the dragons' new looks will look like in the cutscenes for the remaster.

The cutscenes of Spyro 3 have so much more emotion, character, passion, and humor than the remaster, which is a sugarcoated cartoony version of the originals. Not sure why they went in a different direction and made it overly kid-friendly. Kids love theatrics and a little darkness like in the original. The brilliant voice actors in this game made it come alive and that is sorely lacking in the remaster, much less the animation and design changes. But that said the remaster is still 90% good, I love playing it despite my grievances.
Nothing against the remaster but there is just something more whimsical and a certain memorable tone to the original games that the remaster is lacking.
"Brazenly" is a synonym for "shamelessly". "Avaricious" is another word for "greedy". "Duplicitous" means "deceitful". "Larcenous" is a synonym for the adjective "thieving". And "ursine" means "of or relating to a bear or the bear family (Ursidae)". So Bentley is basically calling Moneybags a "shamelessly greedy, deceitful, thieving bear". And really, is there a better description for him? 😉
Really wanted a Spyro-Sorceress interaction cutscene. Also wanted the final cutscene to be a lot stronger, involving Bianca and Hunter and Alora and the Professor and Bentley and Sgt. Byrd and Agent 9 and Shelia all in the Dragon Realms united.

Remember having the black label (not greatest hits) and missing half the cutscenes? And messed up music at many levels? (Most notably, enchanted towers skatepark sounded like that one desert level). And, idk if anyone else has this, but you can't EVER GET the one egg from honey speedway. Even if you achieve the goal. The game never "gets" that you did it
Why didn't the Sorceress just deal with Spyro right at the beginning? There was nothing from holding her back from confronting him sooner. Gnasty Gnorc was referred to being contained in the world he was living in so he didn't appear to have the ability to leave his world and hunt Spyro down, Ripto couldn't fight Spyro at the start due to being powerless without his scepter due to Gulp eating it and finally making a new one with the power crystal. The Sorceress has no excuse whatsoever there's no evidence that something is preventing her from leaving her lair and she has her wand very early on, heck the Spike cutscene shows she doesn't need her wand for her spells and powers. Also why kill the dragons to stop them from wriggling while chopping the wings off? Bitch just do what Stephan did in Maleficent! Use a sleeping spell on the dragons THEN cut off the wings while they're sleeping!
I dunno. I always just assumed that he was incredibly courteous and verbose (which, I assume, was meant to create a contrast to Bentley's brutish design).
Totally agree, particularly with her voice. In the new one she's too campy and over the top to actually seem threatening, while here she actually has an evil sound to her and comes off more as a threat. In the remake she just comes off as a campy drag queen
The sorceress was badass here! In the reignited trilogy her voice actor was lame as hell. This voice actress just has so much more presence and threat to her.
She’s some kind of demonic reptilian. I mean dragons are reptiles so is the sorceress but dragons were the good guys and the sorceress was an attempted child murderer!!!
This is gonna sound incredibly specific, but was anyone else disappointed with how they got rid of the background music from 1:44 to 2:14 in the remake? It's not a huge problem that it's gone, I just liked it a lot.
As far as i am concerned, those end credits are the end of spyro for me :( Oh how i wish insomniac kept the IP. At least they gave us three legendary games that will always be revered.
When you compare the Cutscenes, from the Original with the Reignited Trilogy, when the characters Sheila, Sgt. James Byrd, Bentley, and Agent 9 beat the living Shit out of Moneybags, the scenes In the Reignited Trilogy seem more brutal!
memories I was like 5 when I played this game, this game was the first spyro game I played. then like 6 years later I got confused about LOS games, it was like a different spyro and story game. later skyladers ruined it. my opinion original spyro ( lame graphic but was the most fun spyro series)> LOS ( decent graphic but better story and less more fun to play ) > skylanders ( cool graphics but a horrible game)
i prefer this version of the animation. the other one doesn't capture the magic of this game. still cool to see it all unfold a different style, but it cannot recapture the magic.

It doesn't really have a name, that music is only heard in the Cutscenes and that's it. But I do enjoy the cutscenes music, if someone was able to upload the cutscenes music without any voices or sound affects, I would love them so much.
