Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon - Valley of Avalar Free Flight [PS3] 

The free flying skill in this game was an amazing experience.

Me and my brother would spend so long just flying around this valley instead of playing the actual game lmaoo, so lovely 💜

I've always considered this part of the game to be so deeply moving. It is gorgeous, and the music is breathtaking.

Honestly, this MADE the game for me. The freedom of just flying wherever I wanted. I love ALL the Spyro games before this, but I was so glad to be rid of those gimpy-looking baby wings for these bad boys :D

Wish i could live in the Valley of Avalar tbh.

This was my favorite level in the game; the graphics we're nothing short of amazing

I wish and hope they make another spyro game similar to this one keep the flying mechanics but want them to fly higher in the next one if there is one

I think that The Valey Of Avalar is the only actual place in Dawn of the Dragon that you can actually fly freely without having to do missions (well after you have defeated those red dragon things) cuz its a big meadow/valey to have free space and just do what you want!

I remember thinking of the valley of avalar being beautiful on the ps2 ( though only in short distances ), it was simply relaxing. On the ps3 the valley of avalar is simply one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen in a game...

This is my childhood right here 💜 The only thing i didn't like about the flying mechanics is that it feels more like gliding than actual flying, but for a early 2000's game this game has aged like fine winr

I'm honestly surprised it took until 2008 for Spyro to finally be able to fly around freely, outside of the speedway levels from the originals. I really hope the free flight mechanic is implemented into future games, I'd love to see it again. Spyro is a dragon after all. He's got wings, he should use them, lol.

this is beautiful. I was shocked when I saw what it looked like on my Xbox. it's up there with ark and halo 4.

Plus, as a special addition to the film's conclusion: Show Spyro and Cynder's wedding as described in ConvexityStudios.

I loved the flying in this game. really gave me the sensation i was flying. i like skylanders but i'm getting sick of them milking it. swap force looks lame and they keep doing series /2/3 etc. and make them level up slower or give them new powers to try and make you buy new ones. screw that. i'm not rebuying anything. i'm lucky my b/f surprised me with so many in the first place. i want good story based single spyro games back.

hold down venom or earth in flight and dont let go but make sure you are up high then you can skip parts of the thing thats what i did in the east dam i did not bother doing the things i just went to the wood thing and held down venom flew to a higher place and got to thing

I hear rumors that tey may be making another one......if they do,I hope they don't mess it up, and just continue Spyro as it should be. And I don't even look at Skylanders as a Spyro game. I look at it as a game with Spyro and Cynder in it. Because that's what it is. Biiiig difference.

ugh the ps3 version has more animation and graphics and all that more than the wii version like flowers, rocks and sticks in the water, etc

why dont they make a game about heaven you can play the flute run around in flowers relax dream and stuff you can do many enjoyable activities

I have the Wii version too. And valley of avalar looks kinda crappy in my opinion compared to the 360/ps3 one. (obvious because of the graphics of course) not saying that the Wii one sucks or anything. :p but first thing you'd even notice is that the wii version of Valley of avalar the grass is totally FLAT..

Honestly the best part of the whole game, man. Brings me to tears every time.

I’ve said this many times, and I’ll say it here. Freedom of flight it extremely underutilized in video games, especially games with creatures like Spyro who have wings. The game was still linear, but it had some range and freedom so that you could actually enjoy flying, just for the sake of it and not because it’s a special chase level or something of the like, though I did enjoy the flying level in the first game. I was just sad it was one of only 2 instances, and how there were supposedly going to be those types of travel levels for each time you went to a different map.

Mother of GOD this game looks GOOD! Somebody should'a told me that the graphics were so beautiful for the ps3! Yet another reason why my dad and I need one...

This level was me and my cousin's favorite, the graphics were amazing, the music was so relaxing, the flying skill awesome, so many good memories with this game

I'm blind and when I hear the flying sounds of dragons I feel like I'm a dragon and I can fly with silver blue wings like spyro and I talk into my phone and it types for me and reads my messages to me
