Thanks Geeky stuff. I have an SQ8 as a rear dash cam in my car, and recently acquired an SQ12 and must say the audio is better on the SQ8 has better audio, but as a potential throw-away Go-pro replacement the SQ12 is perfect.

Hi, can you help me solve a problem that I have with an SQ9 that I bought recently, I put it to record and record about 5 or 3 minutes and the recording is cut and another begins, it does not record the running videos and at other times the videos are They record and I am going to reproduce them and they do not work, the format is invalid and I have downloaded several players with all kinds of formats on my cell phone and even so the recordings that in help me with that do not work, it has already solved those of the recording that does not record by piece that records all a video in a row

hello there i buy 2 pieces of sq8 but when i turned on it freez on light blue and cannot turned off and cannot use mode to switch between 720 . 1080 . And photo even after reset ... any solutions ???

Good comparison as always. I believe that the SQ12 is a repackaged SQ11 with a wider lens. I would choose SQ12 because it is 3 grams lighter, making it more suitable to mount on a cheap quadcopter. However, the night vision test was not accurate because all four cameras were emitting IR light at the same time making things look better. If you test them separately you will find that SQ12 is better, despite having only 2 IR emitters. P.S.: Didn't you freeze with the short sleeved jersey at night?

Great comparison. Overall I, too, prefer the SQ11. The SQ12 seem to have the best night-vision, but I don't like the wider lens.

I got the SQ 10 and I think it's a cool camera but I get confuse on put in a mode so really difficult.

The "night vision" is just LED's lighting things up. They might as well have used regular white LED's. I don't like the SQ12's fish eye lens, though I know some people do. Too bad they don't have different lenses to easily swap out.

idk if my SQ11 is a fake one. It does record 1080p but it seems it's just 720p upscaled to 1080p. Framerate of videos is 30 but every 4th frame is dropped resulting in 3rd frame being duplicated.

Really nice testings. But only single cams should be on, when low light testing, else they share the same light sources. Prefer SQ11 over SQ12 because of the more natural perspective. The older ones are too bad.

I actually prefer the sq11 although the 12 appears to perform a bit better in low light. Nice comparison

Guys, I am a newbie to this wee 'action' camera. So I have few questions about SQ11 & SQ12? 1) How long the battery last? 2) Is it possible to connect these cameras via a power bank to charge and record at the same time? I really do not like the image of the SQ12 because the wide angle of the lens distorts the objects and shows them farther away. I regret buying the SQ12 and I just ordered a SQ11 which I think will give me a more real picture of what I see. Personnaly I recommend the SQ11. Definitely SQ12 to put it on my Micro Quads. However SQ11 if you want to use it as a Dash Cam.

I think the colors are a bit more vivid on the SQ11 and sharper.

You should have done the tests separately --- especially in the car and the night vision as well. In the car, the 11 appeared to look better because you could read the license plate better --- but that was only because it was more centered on your dash. I think the 12 could do better, but with your side-by-side, it couldn't be determined. If you had placed the 12 more center, it would have been at least as good as the 11 for reading the license plate (this is important), if not better.

WRONG! Night vision incorrectly tested. Each camera has it's own infrared light amount and power. You are boosting the area of the weaker camera infrared light with the higher quality infrared camera lights.

i have a SQ8, on the brick of smacking it with a hammer because i can't even get it to work with an SDcard, 16Gb FAT32 format, fully charged. so far it's a cheap webcam. and you know what? i've got plenty of old phones which i'm just going to use as a dashcam.
