I'm glad that this movie is not forgotten. It's still popular because it was meant to be a good movie that can be enjoyed timelessly, just like Home Alone 1 and 2, Mrs. Doubtfire, Hook, Jumanji, and even Stuart Little. Matilda is one of the true staples of the 1990's.

Home Alone is still something I enjoy timelessly for sure. The first 2 Home Alone films are my all time favorite Christmas movies, the comedy never gets old.

Mara had the flu during this scene, in the garage , first day filming. Also, her mother died after filming. They dedicated this to her. I read Mara's book, where am I now ?

Fortunately Mara's Mother Suzie Wilson got to see the film before She died. And the film is dedicated to her. Also Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman took care of Mara on the set/during filming.

Personally, I hate that stupid rule about not wearing your hat inside. Some people look better with a hat than without. And also, if it makes you feel more comfortable wearing a hat, why take it off?

Because back when there were a lot more rules about clothing it was a sign of respect to not wear one - wearing one inside the restaurant would've suggested the wearer disrespects the people there. And rules like that tend to stick at "fancy" places

Fun Fact: The hat on Danny's head was actually hooked to wires attached to a harness on him. And when the rim of the hat was ripped off, it was loosened of the stitching to where it was made to be ripped. The desserts on the wrack were put on small catapaults.

This is so funny. First, Harry here was named Herb and had a successful car company and was well off. Then he found out he had a young half brother. Harry made the mistake of having him design a car in his company. He then went bankrupt and was poor. Now he is in this as Harry having another dealership but selling low quality shoddy cars at unfair prices. I guess you have to change in your passion to get by even though it's not good.

I know that Matilda is right, and I personally would not go in Harry’s path, but if I were in his footsteps, I would not talk babyish towards her to counter her. I would actually say: “Listen you little wiseacre! I’m the boss and owner of this company, I'm running this place, I paid for it and I'll decide how to use it, not you. If you ever plan to open a car selling company when grow up, you run it your own way, but let me it in mine. So, stay out of this”. That’s how I would say it if I really were in Harry’s footsteps (which I won’t) instead of talking babyish or with a speech disorder the way he did it by saying to her “I’m smart, you’re dumb, I’m big, you’re little, I’m right and you’re wrong. And there’s nothing you can do about it.” That sounds like how a five-year-old would talk.
