Easy 3 Step Process to landing J Hook not Required- #1 When approaching for landing decrease your collective to 45% #2 Tilt up to 30 degrees for a second or two to stop and then level out (Tilt to 40 degrees if you're going really fast) #3 Decrease your collective to 0% and check your landing zone by toggling C increase collective to 55% to slow your decent at 10 ALT and then drop to 0% again and you'll land softly.

It would be interesting to know the settings you have in the game and your mouse (DPI).

i fly a lot lol and feel i can put it anywhere, gonna paste a message sent to a friend im teaching biggest thing for me is i wanted to be able to replicate it instead of going by feel so i fly by instrument alot. each heli has a 'optimal' throttle imo for j hooking and you can go harder or softer depending on your angle to the lz once you get used to it. you can do a 180 with this method and land on roads or in fields easily within 5 mins come in low at 100 collective with as much angle as you can. 90-120 knots are ideal. fly ~30m to the left and as you pass the lz just j hook to the right at ~30m alt and keep cranking your mouse to the right and up slightly, you can tap d for some extra turn power, keep the heli above the horizon in the blue on the level indicator the whole time you're hooking (you can level the heli out with the instruments i.e. take all roll and pitch out/to 0 and you should be hovering, now to chain the landing.) each heli has an optimal jhook collective in my experience and a 'safe' descent power, if you apply the descent power while jhooking/in the curve you can touch down super fast you just might need to power up to avoid excess hull damage. you can feel the heli become much more maneuverable and swing around at a certain speed, you want to try to time the curve of the hook with this mobility boost to rapidly bleed speed and avoid fire. 45 power is hover in all helis. mi-8 (slidey af) - jhook at 55, reduce to 25 while hooking. blackhawk- hook at 45, reduce to 15 and power up to ~35 before touchdown for a speedy landing uh-1y- hook at 35, reduce to 5-15, increase 25-35 for soft landing. look at your instruments and dont roll or pitch near your lz to avoid rotor clips and its ez af to fly tbh just learn the throttle and a way to replicate it

Can you do another tutorial after the flying physics changed . it's little bit harder now to use j-hook

great vid butt i feel just practing in jensens would help but not significantly because there isnt many confined spaces to land if you wanna get good at landing in small areas

how do you acurately raise your collective to 44%, is their a keybinding to set it to max 44%?

got any suggestions for keybinds and controls?

2nd message = vr helmet or trackir and Hotas + rudder pedals are they enable on squad ??...you ve got a movable map display on your right MFD so why always spawning the map as a wall paper , more realism u fly better u would involve as a chopper’s pilot

Coming from DCS World ..where i fly only choppers.the first one is not acceptable no one chopper can Land with j-hook manœuvres otherwise u gonna crash ur chopper and die...the second one is realistic but there is another one landing manœuvre allowing you to land quickly and more safety than the second one

when i hear " push the mouse forward to push helicopter up" i cringed a bit. People actually play with inverted settings? lol why?
