The last side of those tires we produced was probably around 15 years ago. They were one of our favorite tires, and we were fortunate enough to have the rights to produce them. But once the mold was no longer usable, we could not make them any longer they would be amazing if we still could.
Looks like a very solid 73-75 fulltop K5 with what appears to be 72 Highlander cloth insert on the seats. A rare find and nice example. Looking forward to seeing the upgrades
That is so nice! Wish I could bye (afford) that one! My wife n I are going to plan a day trip there sometime in the future to check y’all out. Really like how you care about detail, and talk about making the customer happy. Who knows, maybe that’ll be the day I come home with one.
I bought my 1975 Blazer in 1977, last year of the full top removal. I would remove the rear seat to go camping and sleep inside. One time I took the top off loaded a full size hot tub in the back, ( with the back seat out), and drove it from my house in Lake Tahoe to the Bay Area during a snow storm at 2:30 in the morning. 4 years later, I used it like a pickup when building my house to haul lumber etc. w the backseat out, tail gate down.
73-75 K5s and Jimmys didnt come with the vented side windows did they? Looks like somebody swapped in later side windows into the 73-75 top. Awesome Truck for sure!
We had the rights to produce that tire after Mickey Thompson had discontinued their 16.5 wheel production. They discontinue that tire. Also we made a deal with them along with a large buyout of their SLT series tires to make it happen. Our last one of those was somewhere around 15 years ago, and the mold became non-usable any longer, but we rolled through them sold them all over the world
It can be sold the way it is but we plan to go over it and do quite a few upgrades as the listing says if you want to reach out 804-357-9768 to purchase the way you see it
I remember when they sold those tires. I called and called for like three months begging for one set. Finally someone called me back and said the tire mold broke in half and it was not repairable. So no Double wides for me. I wish you could still get those tires, in a 36 or 39
We don’t do the actual restoration. Our expertise would be in accessorization suspension related, chassis related, and in some cases interior related, but if you want an honest answer of it done properly and professionally if you have a good donor and you do everything throughout body interior and complete drive line you’re gonna be 50 to 75K pretty quickly.
We actually produced that tire for several years and had the rights to it until the mold was no longer usable. We produced all of the last runs of that tire, including this very set right here if we had to guess unfortunately, it is gone for good and gone forever.
Don't usually comment about the GUY only the "rig". But I tell ya---I am beginning to actually like this guy. He carries himself well, looks clean cut, knows what to say and WHEN to say it, doesn't act "terribibly" ha! ha! arrogant --not any more than myself anyway etc. And most of all he IS an expert on squarebodies !!!!!! I do not like that year truck---take that back I LOVE EVERY CHEVROLET PERIOD !! but if you know of me --and I am sure you do if you are in to '67-'72 Chevy/GMC 4x4 pickups , blazers and burbs you know that when I see a spade I call it as it is !!! These guys are definately legit dudes, I've been doing this resto work and buying and selling of these trucks since early eighties . That's serious time. You pretty much are an expert on a rig after that kind of time. These guys DO actually deserve alot of followers and subscribers compared to these other meth heads destroying their trucks for fun, then laughing their ass 'till they are blue in the face over it. How can you seriously do that and have a full brain you are working with. Thank you Davis boys for putting out hellish cool trucks that even I DO really enjoy looking at and listening to !!!!!!!! Jim
We really appreciate the kind words Jim we’ve been doing this our whole lives. The channel has just kind of taken off we’re not movie stars, but we can sure tell some stories and back them up with facts of things that we’ve done in this industry that just can’t be redone again just like the Mickey Thompson stuff the weld wheel buyout, we got so many cool things to tell and so many more cool trucks to come. Just trying to at least capture a few cool things a week. Thanks for the support much more to come. 👍👍
