Welcome to another fabulous Ruler of the Month! Each month, I'll be sharing a new fun ruler with you, as well as a quilt that you can make with the ruler! The first month that the project is up, the pattern will be free. Once the next month's pattern and video are posted, the previous pattern will get moved into my pattern shop for you to purchase. This month, I'm sharing the Creative Grids Square on Square 6” trim tool. Using this ruler, you can make square-in-a-square blocks with perfect points!

Thanks for showing how to use this ruler. I just got mine today and was overwhelmed by the instructions. You explained it so well, I now understand!

I'm so glad it was helpful! Creative grids puts a bunch of sizes on the same ruler which is great for making it more useful, but can make it a little more confusing to use at first. Hope you enjoy your new ruler! 🥰

Your instructions are SO good because we aren’t waiting for the next step. You have it already made and the instructions flow on easily✅

What a lovely compliment! Thank you! 🥰 I do prefer to just get on with it... I don't like to have long videos for the sake of long videos. I have some long ones... but I've still edited those down as much as I can. ❤

I made a pattern with it, but I'm not familiar with patterns of other designers, unfortunately...

Hi, Carolina. It would have been helpful if you started out using the Square in a Square ruler (Creative Grids #CGRJAW7) as it was designed - instead of using it creatively immediately. Thank you!

Sorry if there was some confusion! I did use it as designed, I just skipped the smaller square. The process is exactly the same for making the block with the smaller square, you'd just see me adding 3 sets of triangles instead of 2. I did explain that in the video, showing that if you started with a smaller square, you would just square up using the smaller markings on the ruler first. Hope that makes sense. ❤
