GM quadra jet carbs are tough and easy to tune, as long as the throttle shaft bore isn't egged out. The square body Chevy is a beast of a work horse. Easy to modify to suit your needs. Good to see you working on more than just Ford's. Keep up the great content.
@Misfit Toys it's hard to do that with work and stuff, but it's always nice watching videos. He's a fan of you and even my mom likes ya. Definitely gonna have to show them more of you. Especially the Ford you did one of my favorite videos.
Oh hell yeah this is going to be a good one. They all are don't get me wrong. One thing that I really liked about your channel is a variety of things you working on it's not like a lot of other RU-vidrs who been stuck in the Rut the only doing will it run videos it gets old like to see you work on your own rigs in your own stuff and then some other stuff here and there. As always thank you for the hard work you put into the channel for us it is greatly appreciated.
The square body looks to be in fairly good condition, the engine sounds all right also. Looking forward to seeing future repairs. Keep up the good work guys 👍✌️🇺🇲
This Mississippi transplant from Indiana will take whatever trucks you "Ford Boys" don't want. I'm not brand snooty. I love all 4X4 vehicles made in USA.
And that is vacume advance it goes down to the trans if you don't hook it up, it will only have 1st gear. Ditch the Quadra puke put an edelbrock. Save time. Base settings runs perfectly. Glad you saved it she's nice
Vacuum advance has nothing to do with the transmission. Vacuum advance is in the distributor. That is the vacuum modulator valve, and yes, it has to be hooked up, but not necessarily through thermo vacuum switch.
Chevrolet's High Energy Ignition (HEI) from the Delco-Remy Division of General Motors was first offered in 1974 on production cars, though in very limited numbers. In 1975, HEI became standard on all GM vehicles.Mar 5, 2019
I thought Ford mechanics had the largest assortment of special adjustment tools in the industry. More hammers than a metal working body man! Just joking, I’ve got em all, Fords GM Mopar and off shore. Over 50 total. Mine are all up here in Alaska I’ve got about half of them running, but at age 73 I’m running out of birthdays to get ‘em finished. Oldest is a 1936 front wheel drive Cord Westchester. Take care and I just subscribed.
Not shure why you are getting an anti-GM vibe? I am definitely a Ford enthusiast but I outgrew the attitude of having to hate on GMs a long time ago. There actually is a late 60's Chevy wagon on my marketplace watchlist at the moment. I just cant logically justify it at the moment.
I have owned three squarebodys in the four years that I have been driving and two of those were full time four wheel drives. I have never had a problem with it before. Not sure why they get a bad wrap but I’ve taken them through some rough terrain and pulled with them and Even went 105 in one of the trucks. But I still wish I could do a burn out or do doughnuts. Got a neat truck there. Hope she serves you well.
Full time 4x4 put unneccesary wear on components and eat more fuel. The 203 is a beefy unit, but I have witnessed some of them slipping chains when used hard.
I wish there was footage of them getting it out of the forest seeing how it stood there it always starts whit the car on the trailer thats the only thing what i missed but nice vid getting it going again👍👍
The best part was when you fellars said "it's alive from its grave" you just mocked every 20-something youtuber doing revivals and acted like they just turned water into wine and it was mint!! Lmao
I have had 3 np203 that I just took the none lockout hubs out and replaced with lockout hubs. Been working for years that way. Driveshaft does not spin in 2wd. Luckily you had a great np205. Mine drives great down the road and with the lockouts it does not wear the front out. Just wanted to tell you all.
That glad u got her running all the old chevy that I get out of the sandhills first thing I have to get new. Is starter fuel pump and cap. Make sure u check the trans case oil😋
