As someone who remembers (and actually ordered from the JC Whitney catalog back in the 70s and 80s) I admire this truck owner's perseverance. It was a PAIN to order that crap - you had to fill out a tiny little order form with a bunch of numbers and mail it in or call someone on the phone and painstakingly read and go over a bunch of item numbers. That truck alone was 2 hours of ordering, and that was AFTER deciding what to order. And don't get me started on returns/mistakes, which were virtually guaranteed to happen.

Typically pretty low. But five years sitting for a Chevy 350 isn't really anything. The gas was still half good, and it had a fresh battery. It looked like it was kept decent, and had some parts fairly recently, which definitely increases the chances. When they sit for years and years and years, that's when you get the cars and trucks that need so much time to slowly coax them into living once more.

Without being too nosey Kevin, I'd be interested to know a wee bit more about what all is now yours. Does all the random stuff come with the trucks? Have you bought everything? The main reason I'm asking: I think there's quite possibly as much value in the "stuff", as the vehicles. It looks like you could fill a decent-sized truck with just the tool and fluids. A skip might be handy too, even just for all the boxes/cardboard/shit. I wonder what the story was with the former owner. He seems to have been into buying, selling, maybe both. Was he maybe a trader of some kind? There seems to be so much stuff, still in boxes. Once you get the vehicles taken care of and salvage all the good automotive stuff, there could enough stuff there for a yard sale/car boot sale. Either that, or someone could spend a couple of days listing stuff on eBay. Dust it off and you might be very surprised at how much it brings in. Just a thought but Mook's animal rescue charity coul do pretty well out of it. Looking forward to the next one and completely agree about the AD/HD t-shirts - you both need one.👍😁 Cheers for now, Dougie.

That is the freaking goldmine of all goldmines! I wanna bet each and every car and other motorized vehicle in there ran when parked and was cared for, and you'll find that whichever car you choose for a project will be as quick and easy as that sweet Chevy truck right here, because it's clear that whoever owned all of that really loved it all too. Kevin/Mook @Junkyard Digs, I know you didn't do any carb work this time but keep this trick I devised years ago for the future.. Try this... Heat the plastic tube from the carb cleaner spray with a lighter (about 1/4-1/2 inch from the end. Then pull on each end of the tube to stretch it. This makes the outer/inner tube diameter smaller and more of a pin point. When the melted plastic solidifies, use small wire clippers or nail clippers to snip the tube at the smallest diameter that still provides flow when spraying. The cleaner comes out like a pin point pressure washer and the shrunken plastic tube end fits inside whatever port your spaying thru. You can also do the same to create 90 degree angles in the plastic tube to spray sideways inside long venturi tubes. I used to make/keep custom tubes around for these situations. Hope this makes sense. BTW.... Great videos. Y'all make me miss my youth. Be Well!

I'll be the weird one and say I want the lumina and that 89 bonneville sse. That bonneville is a little slower than the later ssei but still pretty fun. I grew up around and owned plenty of square body stuff so the old sporty gm fwd cars always interest me. I used to use type f in gm's to firm up the shifts, always worked fine for me.

You're not alone. Those two cars peaqued my interest, too. I hope he got those in the deal so we can see videos of them.

Ive owned both and enjoyed them. I can remember when they were everywhere and they just disappeared. I dont know if it was a cash for clunkers thing like the explorer but I dont even see them in the junkyard anymore.

Agreed! I own a 90 SSE in black and a 90 Turbo Grand Prix in red! Fun for sure!

The 88-90 grand prix se is my favorite. I owned 6 at one time with the color matched wheels. I owned quite a few 91-96 also but only gtp's. I was always big into the grand prix scene but you rarely see them anymore either.

I had an 89 Grand Prix with the 2.8L, always wanted to swap in a 3.1L. I also had a 96 Bonneville and my ex had a 96 Grand Prix. Fun cars.

Given the state of that shed, I can’t imagine what the house looks like… I feel sorry for the family who has to deal with cleaning up a hoarding situation.

There's nothing wrong with hoarding dude, and you've obviously never been to a farm at all. This isn't your little shitheel $2,000 a month rat-shed next to the Starbucks.

And being an Iowan, I can safely say that some barns can look like something like this or it could scar you for life. It's like gambling.

Everything from the Cadillac hubcaps to the wheel skirts the the ridiculous chrome add ons just make this truck amazing. I feel like it belongs in a movie, it's like the Family Truckster of Chevy trucks.

Your truck there has a factory AM, but also an aftermarket FM radio. It's that little white box under the dash to the right of the CB radio. And the visor with the flush mounted lights doubles the value of the truck. They don't make those anymore and were pretty rare when new too.

FM mod Adapter on the drinker, side by the knees. Tune to find the null point in the AM Radio dial glass and turn on the FM adapter, rotating the AM tuning knob till you find the FM signal, then pick your FM station with the modulator. That AM radio is 99% probably slug tuned, and will have 4-5 mechanical memory presets. Pull the button all the way to the out position, then select the station on the AM radio dial, then push button all the way in. Nice truck with a few things removed. Small Block Custom Deluxe 10, with built in chassis corrosion protection, via the small block. If it was a Camper Special you'd have it all, well than the Turbo 400, AC, tow package etc. Still these are getting rarer than Hens teeth not all clapped out. Glad to see you got this one rolling again. Did you ever tell us what year it was? Did I miss it... between '77-'79 maybe? I had a '79, Step-Side, Tuxedo Black outside, Carmen Red interior, Cheyenne Super 10, 4wd with a 305/350, factory tinted glass, rear slider and AC. Gutless in speed but fun as a 4x4 truck, especially in snow. 33's fit like they came on it..

Love them old Chevy square bodies, but damn I’ll never understand fender skirts on a pickup. Years ago I bought a 79 3/4 ton Chevy that had em and they were the first things I ripped off that rig. Awesome find, can’t wait to see more
