That was a raw strength deadlift right there since you haven't practiced it in a while, it may not be an all time PR for you, but if you go back to deadlifting regularly you will certainly hit way more than this, just by reinforcing deadlifting mottor patterns you will pull more efficiently.

Reminds me about Dane Miller, which tested front squatting every day during like two years, and zero deadlift during that time. When he tried back he had added like 30 or 40kg on his deadlift. Deadlift strength can benefit from many movements I guess. Congrats for the big pull Ivan!

Pulls on the olympic weightlifting bar are the best, it feels so nice off the floor because it bends a bit more, but it's not overly elastic. So no wonder the pulls felt good for you today! You'll get 270kg-280kg this year with the training you have been doing already. The deadlift is the exact same for me: only squats needed for progress, wouldn't trade this for anything :) It is fun to do the bi-annual deadlift and PR 10-20kg each time haha

Awesome home gym PR man! It's interesting how different squat variations can strengthen the deadlift. I guess all that is required to pull a 300 Kg deadlift is to build a huge squat.

Geez man, and just yesterday I was commenting on how your leaning over is a back issue and that you've not done any heavy pulling for a long time. Consider that a PR, definitely. I also think you've got 220 easy on the squat. Hope you can go back to the AMRAP recipe soon, and I'd also say: don't completely drop the side glute exercises! A 5-10 minute routine is enough, those are planes of motion we never use as adults in the everyday life (unless you're a martial artist) and the biking has no "side kick" component to it either. Essential to maintain hip balance IMO.

5:23 whenever i train too hard i always get sick, its like your body is giving you a warning to take your foot off the pedal for a bit and rest more. I always tell my gf how at the end of a block i always get sick so i cant get my pr which made me change my approach and my blocks are shorter with less total volume otherwise i will just get sick and it ruins training completely

Hey man. I’ve had battles with it too. Honestly I think stretching the hard route. Feels like tough going. But since going for a jog a few times a week my ankles have been more mobile.
