This show really makes you think. For most people, morality goes out the window when they’re trying to survive. There’s always exceptions, though.

It is very rare that reactors have not been spoiled in what happens in the red light green light. It was great seeing the period of confusion and disbelief and then genuine horror of what was happening. Great reaction.

I can't lie, it's really, really rough throughout. But it has real purpose and meaning. It's not just sensationalizing violence and cruelty. This show will move you deeply.

I don't want to tell you if it gets worse or not but I can tell you you'll get emotions you will never think you'll get. It's not the violence that makes the show great, it's the human story behind it and the drama... Great reaction as always and yeah, ending of 1st episode hit hard for me too.

The main character owes a combined 415 million won which is equal to just under $350,000.

You can't be prepared for this show. Even if someone breaks it all down telling you whats up it doesn't prepare you for it. I loved the show but I understand if people can't do it. It is a lot and it never lets up.

Half (ish) of the contestants just died.... so this is by far the highest Death Count Episode. On one hand, that means the hardest part is over... but you will become emotionally invested in people that die, which makes it a bit worse.

Mathematically, it cannot keep that pace of bloodshed. So there's that. If sheer body count is your only metric of traumatic viewing then you are going to have a progressively jolly time.

Your poor innocent eyes..... It gonna be like this on every episode but you will feel emotions and it is amazing.

Not gonna lie, it doesn't get better in the gratuitous violence department. Personally, I think that if you're an empathetic sort of person, you probably won't get over the psychological games and the absolute horror of this show. It's up there for the most violent shows I've seen. However, I had Battle Royale under my belt before watching this, so I feel like I was a lot more prepared. Edit: As an aside, I think that the writing and the execution of this show are top-tier. It's a real commentary on the human condition. I think this is one of the better shows I've seen despite the horrific nature of it. Battle Royale is kind of... just horrific. However, it's definitely worth a watch if you get a chance. It was Hunger Games long before Hunger Games was cool.

I hope that you consider going back to the Expanse after Squid Game, Kazzy, as Squid Game is only one season. Make no mistake, I am THRILLED that you are watching Squid Game... but the Expanse is one of my all time favorites and generally believed to be one of the best sci-fi/dramas of our time.

7:46 Possession of firearms is illegal in Korea. So he and his daughter are not surprised when the gun comes out of the gift box. Because you know it's not a real gun. 9:00 But when he sees the gun, he thinks it's real and is surprised. This is different from the general Korean reaction. This is a hint that he was in a place using real guns.

Unlike American fare, Korean dramas aren't really designed to get you inured to the brutality. They''re specifically designed to make you feel EVERYTHING and leave you shaken.

They signed back up for it. So don’t blame Sang-Woo for anything for everyone should see it coming. Also Sang-Woo is in alot more debt than Gi-Hun (as seen on his phone in ep 2), while Gi-Hun spends his money in bad ways. Sang-Woo wants to help his mom get back on her feet, while Gi-Hun wants to try to save his mom & see his daughter. So it becomes a conflict of who should win. Wouldn’t you cheat if you had to play death games with random people?

It reminds me a bit of Battle Royale. "There Can Be Only One"
