SQUID STIR FRY | SQUID in OYSTER SAUCE | Another way to cook squid other than ADOBO
Another way to cook squid other than ADOBO is this quick and easy SQUID STIR FRY. Squid is cooked for total of 2 mins or it will be tough and rubbery. Perfect tender with flavorful sauce made of soy sauce, oyster sauce and brown sugar. So quick and easy to make. Easy recipe to satisfy your cravings! Happy Pinoy Simple Cooking!
Here is how to make SQUID STIR FRY:
SQUID STIR FRY RECIPE :
Ingredients:
1 1/2 lbs squid, cleaned, ink removed and cut into bit size
1 thumb ginger, chopped
1 pot of water - for boiling
1 large onion, chopped
1 thumb ginger, julienned
7 clovesgarlic, chopped
2 medium bell pepper, julienned
1/4 tsp pepper
2 tbsp oil
2 tbsp soy sauce
3 tbsp oyster sauce
1/2cup water
1 tbsp brown sugar
1/4 tsp pepper
3 scallions,cut into 1 inch long
Cornstarch mixture:
1 tsp cornstarch
2 tsp water
Directions:
1. In a pot, boil water with ginger over high heat. Blanch squid for 30 seconds. Drain squid completely and rinse with cold water.
2. In a pan or wok, heat oil over high heat.
3. Add onion,cook until translucent
4. Add ginger, cook for 30 seconds
5. Add garlic, sauté until lightly browned.
6. Add bell pepper, sautéfor 30 seconds.
7. Add squid, season with pepper. Stir for 30 seconds. Do not overcook. Remove from the pan. Set aside
7. In the same pan, lower the heat to medium high heat.
8. Add soy sauce, oyster sauce, water, brown sugar and pepper. Stir until sugar dissolves. Let it simmer for 2 mins.
9. Add cornstarch mixture. Stir until well combined. Let it simmer until sauce thickens.
10. Add back the squid. Stir for 1 min. Turn off the heat
11. Garnish with scallions.
12. Serve and Enjoy! Best served with steamed rice.
