This is my primary guitar. I play a variety of styles from americana to noise and punk so this guitar does everything i need it to do and not to mention im a life long Keith Richards fan. The only electric in my collection that i enjoy as much as my SG.
I got one of these in black a short while back. Some say great ' for the price'... whereas I would just say great guitar. Sounds and feels brilliant, oh and it looks killer too.
Would love to try one -sounds great . Back in the 70s when they came out the general feeling was Yikes nobody wants one but gradually obviously with Keith playing one then one of my favourites the late Mick Green , people started to appreciate them .
Thanks for the comment! I think it really does give a nice versatility of tones. Just got in a Schecter PT with a P90 in the neck which is also a very cool tone.
Fantastic guitar period. One of my most favorite guitars in my ever growing collection. I play this through a Vox AC15C1 and can get a variety of fantastic tones.
I'm a Strat guy and I'd like to add a Tele to my arsenal. Actually I'm very conflicted between this one, the Deluxe (two Humbuckers) and the Esquire. I know I didn't mention the classic Tele configuration, but I had one once and I didn't really fell in love with the neck pickup (probably was not good enough the one I got). I heard the Esquire and I loved it, to be true.
Just curious, but how well ballanced are the pickup volumes on this guitar? I'm wondering if I could use the volume knob to choke back overdrive on the single coil, keep the humbucker dimed, and use the toggle to switch between varying degrees of gain without being glued to my peddle board? Or would the volume difference be pretty major? The only custom I ever played was a vintage guitar and the humbucker was way louder than the bridge, but on the vid this one seems pretty ballanced.
I have one in sunburst. It was a Vintage Modified model. Since then it has changed to a Classic Vibe model. The VM doesn't seem to have a slim neck. The necks on my two Strats are slimmer than this one. The VM also seems to have a 12" fret board.
From what I've read, the Squier VM Telecaster Customs have a C-shaped neck (as opposed to the modern C) and a 9.5" radius. I actually preferred the neck on the VM Telecaster Customs than the MIM Player series Teles that I've played.
You could probably find them online, if not then a good online store were I buy my guitars is at thomann music its global so it doesn't matter where you live
Hey Bside! You're awesome and your content is always great! I hope you're day is going well!! What do you think about the humbucker neck pickup in the Squier Classic Vibe '70s Telecaster Custom? Is it muddy like you mentioned about the Squier Affinity Telecaster Deluxe and Player Series Tele HH? I'm interested in a cost effective tele with S-H (single coil in bridge) pickup configuration, as I hear the single coil and humbucker pickups are most contrasting in those positions and I thought this Tele custom was the one but wanted to make sure I won't have to change out the neck pickup after I buy it.
What squier would you recommend for worship music/ambient playing? Looking at getting a better squier or maybe a fender player tele, but what would your squier recommendation be?
"Telecaster that thinks it's a Les Paul" This sounds very targeted at me, but I think I'd need to try it out to really figure out how I feel about it. I guess my concern is that I'm not sure how much I'd ever use that Humbucker, and I already have a nice classic vibes Tele. I might do better finding an HH with the ashtray.
I just got that in all black today along with a really good boss amp and omg I’m inlove, I may replace the pick guard to a white perl but it feels soo good to play,, I still have no idea what the tone nobs to so please help
