This is the 1st part of a 3 part video lecture series on "Basics and Evaluation of a case of Strabismus / Squint". This series is aimed to help residents understand Squint better, as an aid to conventional textbooks, with detailed explanations of all the tests and concepts. After completing this series, the student should be confident to evaluate any squint case in an exam, and also be able to answer questions better.
This is the 1st video of the series, which focuses on the Basics of Squint. For convenience sake, I have listed the subtopics of this video below with the time in each video in case someone wants to only see that part.
1. Angles and Axes of the human eye: 1 minute
2. Basics on Binocular Vision, Confusion and Diplopia: 9 min, 23 sec
3. Sensory Adaptations to Squint (Suppression, ARC): 20 min, 13 sec
4. Motor Adaptations to Squint (Fusion, Compensatory Head Posture): 25 min, 41 sec

How to appreciate intorsion and extorsion for 4 th nerve palsy ?
@zainkhatib9430
@zainkhatib9430 4 года назад
It cannot be physically appreciated in primary gaze since it is a motion around the AP axis. But is a pt has a oblique paresis causing deficinet torsion, there will definately be a compensatory head posture, i have explained that in this video. Also there are tests like Double Maddox rod test and parks e step test, i will be explaining these in part 3 of my series. Also indirecti ophthal examination can help to pick up a torsion.
