No squirrels were hurt in this video. If they would get hurt then I would not do this at all. They also would not keep coming back for more. All day everyday if we had time to do this.
I build a lot of cool stuff and decided to make my own version of a squirrel catapult/launcher. It has evolved over time and more improvements along the way.
This time I made the catapult a 2 piece system. The catapult itself and a base platform. Another change I made was getting rid of that marine battery and using compact 12v 7Ah battery. The old system also went through 1 fuse per launch, I changed it to a momentary control box to stop the trip cord plus a newer basket.
This all stemmed from the squirrels destroying our garden and other things around our house. I had 2 choices: kill them all with a pellet rifle or have fun with them and feed them as a co partnership I guess. It works. They stopped the damage and the agreement seems mutual......for now.
