i have a food type that you can buy that is new to the squirrels but they can eat it so i heard, and that is honeycombs that have bee larver in it, i do not mean the honeycomb whit honey in but the ones that produce bees, there is several people that hunts honeycomb and so on and give the comb that dont have honey to diffrent kind off animals and one animal that can eat that is squirrels. just a tip.

They are smart. They know at my moms place that she is the provider of food. So if there is nothing out there they will go right up to sliding glass door and stare until she comes out and feeds them. 🤣

"Ooh what alchemy is this" they seem to be thinking, but baby squirrel is quite brave and seems more willing to linger and investigate. Like all parties, they take a little while to warm up and then the fun begins. And no surprise that Greta is one of the first to go for it big time! But back to old familiar ways is best and a handful of scattered nuts really makes the party bright.

I think the squirrels are reluctant because you changed their entire feeding station. Nothing looks the same, so they're cautious. Maybe if you just add one cocktail cup (or whatever new item you want to offer them) to your regular bowl of nuts they would be bolder. Thanks for posting these videos. They always make me smile.

Awe, I love how you live exist with the squirrels. I did leave dishes of water around the neighborhood park and the squirrels definitely drank. They took long, long drinks of water. It came to me one summer to leave water out for them, it wasn't wasted effort. Also, walnuts in the shell are readily available most of the year here and the squirrels gnaw away on the shell, it's good for their teeth.
