Helloooo Ipoh!
Ipoh is famous not only for its Hakka mee but also its curry mee, so that means I had to have a double noodle breakfast.
The Hakka mee noodles just get better and better the more you eat them! While the curry mee, I opted for a dry version. They were a little sweet for me, but Yee Fatts curry sauce is something I can still taste today. Also funny to note, I had a double noodle breakfast, but I think the glutinous rice with the curry won my heart.
Next, I went for something this southerner seems to always be able to scope out, fried chicken. This is the juiciest fried chicken I have eaten as it squirted all over my arm.
Then I wanted to take a break from the heat, so I found something that I thought had to be a winner. Pulut cendol or cendol with sticky rice! Turns out, I actually enjoy them seperate more so than together!
Lastly, I went for Ipoh’s iconic dish, beansprout chicken. I didn’t know beansprouts could be the main star of the show, but wow, they were and put on a hell of a performance.
