When I saw it on tour, at 1:05:17 after Shakespeare did his tap, someone in the audience cheered and right before Nick started his he looked right at the audience member and pointed at them and said "NO, no." And continued to tap. It was the most hilarious thing ever.
I think it's because when we see it, we also hear the other singers tapping before singing "brighter than the rest of us, now you are the best of us", but we don't have additional context of more tapping to give our ears more of a hint when listening to the soundtrack. I thought it was claps and thigh slaps too.
We're sitting And watching people read Shakespeare We're watching people read Shakespeare We're watching stupid people Who like to read Shakespeare read Shakespeare
I was at Brain's last show, and when he made his first entrance omg applause happened for like 5 minutes. It was amazing. He just stood there taking it all in. That is what I do in all of my shows when I have a funny line. XD Good times.
They’re not pockets. Christian said in an interview that when they were first made, most pants had holes in them so..they just... yeah. Anyway, it showed ‘masculinity’. It looks weird now though.
Old comment, but they were meant to show status and how rich someone was. People who didn't have cod pieces were obviously poor and the ones who could afford the big, bedazzled ones were rich. The king obviously had the biggest one in the land. Shakespeare having the bigger cod piece literally illustrates that he is more highly regarded, successful and is basically higher in society than the Nick. As for the white collars, the collars were used to absorb sweat and dirt to prevent clothes from getting stained.
36:45 i was watching “tap dancing eggs the musical” and when nick said this line, he didn’t say luke, he just made some noise of forgetting. this has me fully convinced that rob forgot his line, and that makes it all the more funnier imo.

“raise a glass” is a general term, hamilton didn’t create it Hamilton is great but im tired of new theatre kids thinking everything is about Hamilton, theres nothing wrong with Hamilton but i hope you’re not like some “theatre fans” who watch Hamilton and then never watch musicals again and still have the nerve to call themselves theatre fans
This show is slightly different than the other bootleg. Is this previews. It has some lines that weren't in the other one, and some were in the other that weren't in this.
Precious Gregory Avenue Q was at 26:38, pretty much the whole bit at 26:50 was Les Mis, I think he mentioned Seussical at 29:52, On the Town 29:57, Chicago 30:09, Rent 30:21, Annie 30:34, Pippin 33:47
I've seen this musical 3 times and will go again any chance I get. Fabulous perfect storm of writing, composing, dance and acting. Thank you for this! It will keep my longing abated til I can experience it live again.
Me too! I’ve just discovered this musical as of January 31st this year when a local high school theatre department announced it as their summer show. I decided to watch this play so I could be able to audition for the production. Since watching it I have fallen in love with this show.
[ ] I consider it to be different for each person like Nicks villain is Shakespeare and Nigel’s is Brother Jeremiah and (in act 2) Shakespeare’s is Nick
Objectively speaking, the antagonist is the person who is the obstacle to the protagonists goals, so shakespeare is the antagonist while nick is the protag
I love how they made a reference to little shop of horrors. Its one of my favorites if you cant tell already, but it was just so neat. Especially since Christian got to be in it 😂!
