Nai Miris is a local chili pepper. It originated in India as Cobra Chilis. This was brought to Sri Lanka and grown as a variant of the mother pepper and then renamed as Nai Miris. Direct translation is Snake Chili.

You can try many western food outlets if you go to big cities like Matara and galle. There are decent food at Keells supermarkets as well

@@dunneytravels If you come to down south again definitely visit Matara. It's located not far from mirissa. And don't just go around city center like you always do. Check google maps and you can see these cities are spread over several kilo meters

7:30 Naimiris is Cobra Chilli, a certain type of local Chilli.

Damn.... Nai Miris is the King of Chilies. Luckily Dominoes add only a bit of Nai Miris to their pizzas in Sri Lanka. Google the name "Capsicum Hot Pepper" thats the english name for the Nai Miris.

We’ve been trying but most of the ones in each place are 1,000 rupees for foreigners! We’ve found some really good ones and some average ones here all for around the same place
