This gives me so much motivation to start on my swap. CUAA crate motor been sitting in the garage almost a year now, swapping over CP3, 2260vklr, and upping the CRUA injectors 150%. Awesome work as usual from you all!! My goal was 300Whp, looks like I won't be too far off!
The advantage of specialization. An intimate knowledge of all the differences between the VAG engines and how to exploit that for best results. PS. If Sara edited this, she did a good job of cutting it at 60mph when the speedo was going round that quick 😃😃
This is awesome 👏 makes me feel lazy just bolting a ko4 to the tfsi and hitting send it on the map.🤣 I will look forward to seeing this at vanned next year 😎
Brilliant video mate, I’ve been wanting to know more about these 2.0cr engines can we have more of this stuff? More in-depth look at heads and ports how they flow etc
Remember a bloke from Devon had a fabia heading to 400 bhp but kept melting bits think he swapped to petrol 1.8 t in the end were quite Smokey at the local rolling rd day I went to in 07
So it's possible to bolt on CUAA bi-turbo to mk7 engine? but it need some mods to fit CUAA intake manifold to mk7 engine. But is it possible to fit CUAA head on with intake and turbo to mk7 engine?
So would the biturbo (more specifically the smaller of the two) help you at all with the low end performance if you had kept it or is it just a oem efficiency thing that needs binned?
Excuse my ignorance but on the standard engine I thought both turbos are the same size and ran two cylinders each? Not sure there is one big one small but again I might be wrong
@@liamgreen6036 im just as ignorant but pretty sure that that kind of setup is only used for V engines etc with two heads. The “Biturbo” on the 2l 4cyl is more a “compound turbo” i think with a small feeding onto a large. Small turbo spins up faster and big turbos make top end power so its a best of both kinda situation. Hope that helps you find a better source of information.
@@liamgreen6036 I might be corrected on this, but it's much the same (if it is actually this same system) as a Borg Warner R2S setup, which is sequential turbos. One small for low revs, one large for higher revs, and they switch over in the 2500-3000rpm range.
Hey Darkside Team, Is it possibly to put this setup on my BiTDI Passat while still keeping the emissions stuff in place? I’m living in Germany so it’s difficult to get TÜV otherwise.
hello ! I got a CUAA Passat a few months ago and I want to make more power from it. Can you plz tell me what figures I can get with the stock injectors and fuel pump ? Can I just upgrade the bigger turbo and put a downpipe and get 350 hp ? Thx !
They are Piezo and quite large but the wiring is a real mess. If we started from scratch we might have used that ECU but we never wanted 2 turbos anyhow.
Been checking these cuaa out nd they aint cheap to get hold of even from a wrecker, the complete cars are still 14k plus, i imagine your lump was an import.
I'm sure you could with a bit of foresight. Both have Bosch. Not sure if Turbo control or fitment will work. Lots of custom adaptations will be required I'm sure.
Hang on so is the charge cooler water separate to the engine and turbos coolant? Like a separate loop? I gather it has its own water pump? I’ve thought about a system like this for the turbo oil system.. a separate reservoir pump lines cooler and thermostat, I figured if you had a separate oil system for the turbo it would stay a lot cleaner and be much better for the turbo
You guys have incredible videos. There’s just so much information I dont know if I’m absorbing it. I bought a mk6 Golf 2.0CJAA with barely 40k miles. I’m trying to understand how it works but cant figure out where to start. I want to keep emissions so I can take it anywhere, but I also want HP gains and consistent power. My gas pedal seems too sensitive or not sensitive enough, and it jumps rpms but doesnt provide power on the low end from a stop. Is it that theres an issue somewhere, or do I really need it tuned? What can I do, where can I start? I havent found any beginner information, and forums dont seem to have patience for my questions. Thanks for your time!
@@DarksideDevelopments no tune. It had an air intake on it but it was swapped out to get a warranty fix on my egr cooler. Vw said if it was tuned theyd know, or is that a myth? One last question- how do I determine myself that parts are compatible? Part numbers, or precise measurement?
@@HorizontalCrank if it is tuned the harware number of the ecu changes from "H26" to "X26" for example, and as soon as the vehicle is connected to a dealer diagnostic machine it flags the car on the system. You can see exactly when it was tuned and if the tune was set back to stock, but it will always stay on that car's history.
Hi dark side, I have an 08 caddy maxi, was originally a BLS engine and it threw a rod. I've recently had a bkd put in from an A3, the guy used all the steering rack and gearbox etc from the A3 but it's electric power steering. It's always heavy and abs lights are on. I was told to replace the abs module and it should fire up and start working but it never. Needs sorting, is this something you guys would be able to get sorted? Also engine has developed an overboost code, seems to drive perfect around town and then as soon as I go into 6th gear/70mph it goes into limp mode, some very slow coolant loss too could that be egr related? God knows! Either way, I was wondering if I could get it booked in for a few days and maybe I could get a hotel for a few nights as I'm from Coventry, but I just really want someone that knows what they're doing to work on it now! A remap whilst I'm there would also be nice!
sounds like it needs a turbo and an EGR delete. On our race cars we wire the steering straight to power and it works perfectly. Never done a BLS to BKD, this was a BJB so already had EPAS.
@@DarksideDevelopments thankyou so much for replying! It definitely needs an egr delete as the anti-shudder valve is broken and apparently a delete gets rid of the valve anyway! Turbo sounds good. Is this a kind of job that you guys would be able to take on? How would I go about booking in? 🙌😁
Hi, Bit off topic, but after installing swirl flap delete (all done correct) on CAPA V6 I get real strong engine shake at 1050~-1150~ RPM in every gear. Engine mounts confirmed good. You guys got any ideas? That normal?
@@DarksideDevelopments that I can do 👍🏼 thanks for the reply! I’ve had the car two years and 20k, no problems up to now touch wood. A wolf in sheep’s clothing.
Remember that timingbelt is to be changed in 120000km and not at 210000 like other diesels...had to fight whit service advisor from vw dealer whit if... belt was over driven by old owner by 50000km brobably becous it is so rare engine atleast oin finland. Btw realy weard engine that they basicly made compleatly new engine whit allmoust nothing incommon on others and then just put it in passat and nothing els.
@@uksomo it’s currently at 57000 miles so it will need doing within the next couple of years, I’ll also change the water pump at the the same time, if I keep it that is, I do like the a6 3.0 bitdi 🤣
You seen Harry's Garage JCB video about hydrogen vs EV? Hydrogen is the future and can be exploded in a combustion engine. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-19Q7nAYjAJY.html
