Experimented with smaller pipes on M1000 turbos back when they were new. Smaller chambers did not make power. Using spar from a 2 stroke chassis and going around the outside of spar like the M8 would have allowed the bulk of the 800 pipe to fit like stock with less shortening and loss of volume. That single doesn't appear to have much more volume than one of the original triple pipes. I may be wrong but just speaking from some experience building 2 stroke turbos from scratch.

Amazing Pete. Love what you’re doing👍 Since you have the original oil tank mounted to the chaincase…..thinking you could get a 12 volt pump and use that to circulate oil from the tank through the turbo and back. Shouldn’t need an oil cooler with that volume of oil unless you’re doing long runs with it👍

I've probably owned over 40 SRX's in the 98 to 02 range because of selling or Wrecking them. Anyway been wanting a NEW SRX and Yamaha gives us the Shaft !!! I'll most likely end up with a used 21 or 22 . But anyway I Bleed BLUE and it was because of the SRX Triple !!! I Like watching what ever your working on Pete !!!!

That "W" pipe came out killer, looking forward to seeing the expansion pipe all finished up with the hand hammered heat shield logo. Great idea on the aluminum square tube for the cold side. Really enjoying this build... It's got me thinking about the spare WRX turbo sitting on the shelf and the old Indy Storm 800 in the barn, plenty of room to toss out the DG triple stingers and put the turbo in their place...Gonna have to get a beer and think on it lol.

Lookin good. The inset of the 2" pipe on the exit side is to reduce crackle. Race pipes will generally not have an inset pipe. Thats why they crack so much louder then trail pipes. It is important to keep the length of the taper to the end where it connects to the exit pipe. The amount of length of the exit pipe that goes into the pipe isnt important. The shorter it goes in, the louder it will be

An idea for your exhaust... the 98 ski-doo's used a normal sized expansion chamber.. then the outlets were smaller and exited about 1/3 of the way down the expansion chamber... may be an idea to route smaller pipe to the turbo.

Love Yamaha srx! And that thing will be mean. Wish you could get your hands on a 1998 formula 3. Have some lighting issues, but she has 2500km. Keep up the great work!

Now stick Yo' Mama's 4 stroke in a 1980 SRX chassis and have the "Set Supreme." Extra points for a 1981 SRX/Vmax 4 stroke conversion and have the trifecta.

Dirty hands , been entertained by your Chanel for well over a year now , love how you keep it light ! Question… wouldn’t it have been easier and better scavenging efficient if you cut a hole in the SIDE of that divergence cone and had a nice 35-45 degree bend straight-ish into yomomas turbski , side dump outlet pipes in 2 strokes work very good , not DOOZER , on NA sleds and now Polaris are using them on their turbo factory 850’s and 9R’s ( factory race models) with great success and it seems to give the 850’s/9R’turb racer better throttle response than my Boondocker sidekick setup on my 2019 850 axis . Just an idea if you need to try another iteration of exhaust systems , I’m sure you’ll go through a few until you get that ultimate smile on your face 🎉

When I saw you part out that 2002 which looked in great shape I damn near had tears in my eyes. I have two of them, one I bought brand new. Big fan of these old girls, hate to see one retired.
