The History Of The SS Germanis: The RMS Africa Castle Was Ordrered By Union-Castle Line And Was Built At John Brown Shipyard. On June 16th 1951 The Ship Was Launched By Michel Lenin. The Ship Was Completed In March 1952. On April 10th 1952 She Left On Her First Cruise From Southampton To South Africa. In 1967 Union-Castle Line Leaves Two Ships Of RMS Uganda Castle And RMS Dwranka Castle We're Sold For Scrapping,And She Was Sold To Chandris Lines And Reffited At Piraeus And Renamed GERMANIS. On August 10th 1968 She Left On Her First Voyage From Piraeus To Sydney. In 1972 She Cruising From New York-Bermuda And Caribbean. The Passenger Accomodations We're Unsuccesful And She Rebuilt By Capacity Of 534 Gross Tons. In 1980 She Was Charted To Costa Crociere For 3 Years And Used Cruises From Genoa To Buenos Aires Replaced By The SS Eugenio C. In Late 1983 She Comeback Again To Chandris Cruises And Used Cruises In The Caribbean. In 1996 Chandris Fantasy Cruises Went Bankruptcy And The Ship Was Abandoned And Was Laid Up At Elefsina,Greece Along With The MS Regent Prince And MS Mediterranean Queen. On December 31st 2000 The Ship Sounded Horn Whistle On Her Last Voyage Of The SS Tritonican Star (Former The Chandris Liner Universalis). In November 2004 She Was Sold To Indian Scrapping. On December 16th 2004 She Was Sold For Scrapping And Renamed RMANIS. On April 21st 2005 The Ship Towed From Elefsina To Alang With The Greek Tug DIMITRIOS K. On June 1st 2005 The Ship Was Beached At Alang,India For Scrapping.
