yeah, the code doesnt have anything about universal touching, theres two processes, bump, and bumpedby. the former calls when the thing touches something else, and the latter is called when something else touched it.... the shards use the latter but not the former, im not actually sure why it doesnt use the former, its not like they are mutually exclusive

@@Brendedn as a coder, i assure you it does not, SM only dusts when bumped, not when it bumps others, if someone got dusted when it was thrown at the person, its simply because the person walked into it at the same time it hit them, you can tell because the SM doesnt dust literally anything it smacks into despite it not having code to make any difference between people and objects

Nah we didn't really try to kill you. Really was just gonna go for whichever target was in the bar at the time, just wanted to fuck around with the sm and after we were done with that, I literally just stole caps ID and decided to just break into sec and slip/bear trap them all

the supermatter and the smaller shards are solid objects, so this wouldn't work. HOWEVER.... you could, as a traitor, potentially have the objective to collect a supermatter sliver on a pair of tongs. and then load THAT into a pneumatic cannon and fire it at people, maybe?

@@GrinchAxel you can unwrench the sm shard and use telekinesis(from genetic lab) on it to throw it at anyone

@@HalfPunch wouldnt matter, shards only dust when something touches it, not when it touches something else. so throwing it at someone wont do anything

@@HalfPunch soaps have nothing to do with wether throwing the SM shard at someone will dust them. you can throw it near someone and hope they themselves stupidly walk into it, but the act of throwing the SM is not what dusts people

Usually all my disposal pipe trucks just involve shooting people with various things. Trunks can shoot things up to like 6 tiles away in a straight line, and the chutes can shoot stuff in a 360 degree radius around itself. One of my favorite disposal cannon tricks is to hook up 50 spears/glass shards to a chute that just instacrits anything in a 6 tile radius

Also shooting vending machines at people is funny too

@@TechnicalOveride Wait a minute, don't you mean "Bins can shoot stuff in a 360 degree radius around itself? One disposal trick i know is "Trunk > Wrenched bin > Cover with tile", it makes an invisible wall that most won't see coming.

@@tohg7.859 I only tested the chutes for 360 degree shooting but the trash bins might work too.

@@MrRavellon I dont know but I think what happened was someone pushed it into one of those atmosfans and it singulo'd there. I might have some of the after-round discord convo I could comb through to see what happened but not sure I have an answer for you

some engineer dragged it to an atmosfan in an attempt to contain the gasses which literally just fed the SM shard plasma and funky gasses

which is actually pro tg griefer tip apparently, literally just dump plasma into an atmosfan then bring an SM shard there
