Is there ever a valid time to do something like that? I suppose anytime the nukies are obviously winning engineering could release something. That would make it impossible for nukies to win in general. But in this case, it resulted in a nukie win.
@@hedera1332 he 100% knew, that's such a specific sequence of actions to do. But it's wizden so he probably won't even get a roleban, let alone a normal timeout
The Crew actually had a decent chance, Sci! Why, why would you doom them like that?! One round I was in actually did end in a "Crew Victory" after a Tesla ate the Nuke. I almost lived that round too, but was cut down by an assault borg casually flicking their blade on and off after standing still in the darkness for a good five minutes as the nukies were just chatting amongst themselves ten feet away. I wasn't even near the Nuke....
I was CMO in that round. When the news of the tesla came in, I screamed for all of the medbay to evacuate, but it didn't seem like many of them listened. Then the tesla came and I was the only one around with a space suit, so there was not even a point in saving people. I just grabbed the meds locker and somehow managed to make it to the evac, getting somewhat hit by the radiation from the singuloose the tesla had caused. In the end there were like 5 people who made it to the evac shuttle and didn't get blown up, zapped, or died some other horrific death. I guess I should've tried to dump the bodies into the locker as well, but yeah.
@@KogasaGaSagasa Mate, one round we had either a self antag or a *really* incompetent engi that some how managed to telsa- *and* singloose in the first 20min of the round. (They generated a singu as per procedure at the time, but then somehow managed to make a tesla as well outside the containment field that broke out the singu.) Needless to say, they got ahelped and probably job banned at the very least
100%! The time I managed to steal the RD's suit right off of him in the middle of a well-lit hallway with others around and wasn't even suspected or caught is probably the peak of my SS14 career. I would absolutely love to see other crazy strats and shenanigans that others have pulled off.
considering the job quote for sci is "hiring self antags" they did a damn good job. Honestly sci is probably the leading department in of station wipes.
Hmm, it would be a close tie with eng I think. It would be those kinda artis plus really bad crit anoms from sci vs singu and telsa looses and atmos issues from eng (and possibly power issues as no power can *really* fuck a station in a variety of ways).
yeah that scientist was me, i had heard most of security died and i was expecting it to be more effective than it was. very entertaining but i wont be doing that again :/
@@whips2783 did you even know tesla was even a possibility? I've only seen it once before, but it was a downstream branch that had depth like 8-10 nodes
@@mitchsmitch yeah once it gets to about depth 7 on the artifact, its reaction will read "station wide destruction" meaning it will generate a tesla. you can also tell its going to become an artifact like that once it reaches around depth 5 and still has more edges to go down. Since the only Artifact node that gets pass depth 5 would be the station wide destruction ones
I mean yeah that scientist shot the whole station in the foot, but MAN did that round look fun! Besides, when else would you see a tesloose being used as a weapon against nukies? It was now or never!
i remember this round i literally arrived and my first idea was to get a toy sword and just mess with people cause thats my meta and i saw a nuke i tried to joink it but clearly i had no chance as a passenger with nothing
This is what I love about space station. It’s not a competitive game and anybody can pull a fucking Tesla out of their pocket Fuck balance, embrace chaos
Not sure what goes through one's head to intentionally destroy the station, like I get nukies are specifically ordered to do so, but maybe scientists should not trigger station wide destruction.
As a guy who really only plays sci and for a long time at that (back when diseases were a thing), i've only ever seen "Mass station destruction" ONCE, it was on Kettle (on lizard) and it was like the depth 9 node. Not knowing what it did, I oh so wanted to activate it but RD was like hell no and sold it, kinda sad. And up until now, like a good 1.3 years later I FINALLY see it activated. So i'm pretty sure, that poor scientist had absolutly no clue that it would spawn a tesla, and just thought it'll do a big ass depth 4 env disruption explosion or something
Tesla balls spawning should really have a round-end tied to them. It's an irreversible death sentence for the station. Hell, should even call it a "syndicate major victory", because it will reliably destroy more of the station than the nuke will.
@@AccordYeen I agree honestly. It's just a 15 minute watch the same explosions every time it looses. It's cool the first few times but gets really repetitive. At least with a singuloose it's a lot more random
Hey Ik this is gonna sound weird but I’m looking for a space station 13 video about some dude playing a ninja that used the timespliters song chinese and I think you commented on it but for the life of me I can’t find the video
Just putting this out there, why should the crew care if the medic is lagging? Yeah it sucks, and sure we've all seen that Lone Op Video you did where the RD waited and let the loneOp Reset when they crashed. However, that is LRP, if they stop moving or are having issues, it doesn't matter, a true MRP or even HRP would continue on, and the nukie and others can scratch it up to some kind of underlying health issue.
The only time I can see setting off a tesla like that being okay would be a) If was the end of the round, or b) it had been over 30mins and they had the 'die a glorious death' objective (even then I would be a little hesitant for that second one).
For delta v, antagonists should keep damage caused proportional to objectives, and it should be focused on completing objectives. Additionally they removed station wide destruction because people of flawed intelligence kept Tesla loosing the station.
@@andrewgreeb916 Yeah, the only time got deep enough in an arti to get the 'station wide destruction' response, I quietly informed the RD and we just locked it in an arti box. Not sure why we didn't sell it or crush it, might have been we couldn't for whatever reason. We *did* intend to bring it to round end tho lmao, just to witness it for once, but we sadly died before evac.
