I like this interview. Gladwell is asking the tough questions.

One reason for their debate (maybe argument) regarding the Dolans in NYC is that Gladwell admittedly speaks from a moral, socialist standpoint, while Silver sticks strictly to a business, economic script (sorry for the alliteration). Silver tacitly dismisses Gladwell's standpoint.

why is it that black people remain not visible about team ownership, yet they remain passionate about excelling on the gridiron? this is similar situation in Europe, you can easily name various super soccer stars in Europe that are black but yet, none are considered team owners?

unlike coaching and general manager positions, team ownership requires alot of capital to own and even though players make alot of money the overwhelming majority of them are not billionaires.

bullshit college athletes are not being paid, period. This is free market society, you earn according to what you bring in, therefore the amount of money these college athletes brings to these college institutions versus the so called education compensation, its pathetic...I think college players must be paid, full pay, if you don't want to pay them due to the fact that they are college student, than let the college student games be watched for free...
