I've had korandos since 2014 and currently changing to the emotion. This will be my 4th Korando. I only figured out how to turn off all the beeps and stop the volume going down when I get a warning beep in last few weeks. It's all on the dash menu. I never looked properly. Great legroom even with 5 adults and great for the suitcases going to the airport. Couldn't fault it. I changed from merc to this as had merc engine and same drive. Not merc anymore and emotion has BYD battery. Great warranty on car and battery. Definitely worth a look if you want family car that's economical and easy to run. Heated seats used to be in back until they stopped and only put in front now. Also need to plug in for Spotify where older model was also wireless so 2 features I miss. But overall higher spec than most and better value car. Also like the welcome by name and option for personal profile pic etc,
€48,000 are they having a laugh. Ssangyong were meant to be a low budget brand. Now if this car was brand new and with say 400km of range maybe but its old now and its far too much for it. It needed to be €38,000 to sell to anyone but Taxi drivers. A pity
It's certainly a good enough car but at a price that will disappoint. Needs to be much cheaper. However as with a lot of the Chinese brands who started out higher then expected, that was managing demand as they got their service and sales infrastructure in place. Might be the same here. With a good discount and sales offer it might be popular with people who just don't want the speed.
I've been seeing ads for this recently and was wondering what was up with it. I'd struggle to see why you wouldn't go for a Kia Niro EV instead. I could understand the Korando as an option if it was cheaper. Perhaps they're just aiming for taxi drivers that will get a grant to reduce the price significantly. Only pro I can see vs others in the segment is boot space.
Shocked by the price, if it was under €40k they might have something but it’s too much for what is a budget brand. Looks ok and big but all that beeping would drive me nuts!
My thoughts 💭 exactly is that SsangYong/KGM isn’t marketed as a ‘budget brand’. In Korea, you’re considered above average to drive/own this brand… It’s classier and it’s simply different than the rest… 👍🏼 This Korando is well equipped. 5-Star safety & Top notch interior quality from the Korean brand.
In Luxemboug you get the top spec model for 34.000€. They offer a reduction of 13.000€. Doesnt't seem to sell well. Does the car have an app to start the AC for example?
Whats KGM? I know Ssangyong are kind of gone in other parts of the World and replaced by a name that sounds like its for disabled people. A pity as Ssangyong at least had a proper logo unlike Hyundai who just have a H in a ellipse and KIA well who really did not bother at all just like a certain overratted German brand. Not to say there is anything wrong with either marque they just could be more innovative with there logos and so could the Gernan brand with two letters in a circle. Thats just lame. At least the other three German brands were more innovative with theres do.
Didn't have all that beeping in the Ultimate I went out in. Also nearly no road noise at all. Less than on my Citroen ec4. The Ultimate did have a parcel shelf - well a blind. However the price in Ireland is way more expensive than here. Even at full list price it's under £40k. Much better finished than any Chinese car and way cheaper than the top spec Niro. I was impressed. Just the right size and well put together. The tech is much better than the Niro too. It gives more info than any EV I've tried and in a very concise way. What the guy didn't say is the battery tech is all BYD. Local dealers have got very good efficiency and over 300 miles range
Thanks Tim. This car is based on the Mahindra MESMA 48 platform. The next car, the Torres EVX will be BYD. Because it's a Lithium Ion battery, I don't think the pack is bud either yet. Looking forward to testing it on a longer term drive
@@NevoEVReviewIreland this is odd. The local dealer told me the version I went out in has a brand new BYD wheelbase . This was September. The previous version wasn’t very good had road noise and range of about 200.. In the end they didn’t import any.. Your screen displays looked different. On the one I tried the navigation could be copied onto the drivers screen. It could also display the real time consumption of the traction, electrics and ac/heating separately in the home screen
