Hey bro i had the same laptop as you, question is there is no 2.5 hdd/ssd bracket and sata conector in the box or in the laptop,,, how do i instal a 2.5 hdd/ssd in there?

oh there's many configurations for this laptop. Most lenovos include the connector for the 2.5inch ssd. Although most of them don't include the bracket, only the cable/connector. depends on where you get the laptop

Yea im having the same problem also, i bought a 2tb seagate SSD and cant find a way to connect it, my battery is longer then yours it fills up the whole bottem part. Any suggestions, is there a way to get it connected anyway? Or should i sell or swap for a smaller SSD

@@whattmeter mine came with a hdd like urs instead of an ssd can I swap the hdd for 512, 750 or 1tb 2.5 inch ssd with any tool kit stuff and can I add a 512gb NVMe m. 2 ssd too to have too SSD’s

@@Testimony201 Yup you can use a 2.5 inch ssd as your boot drive. You can have two ssds. A 2.5 inch and an m.2. Make sure to check your laptop layout as there are similar models of this laptop. good luck

It’s really up to you. Lots of choices out there. I usually buy whatever is on sale. I recommend trying to get an ssd with at least 1500 read and write speeds

It’s really up to you. I picked up the one with an hdd, then installed ab m.2 ssd. It depends if the speed of the hdd you have is fast enough for your needs. Hope this helps.

You need to have tools otherwise you wouldnt be able to open the laptop. Also when upgrading or touching things always disconnect the battery.

@@Testimony201 Check your laptops manual some laptops have limits to how much gb they can upgrade it to example the lenovo ideapad 3 14ada05 has a limit of only 512gb of ssd storage m.2 2280 check if your laptop supports it and you need to be sure yours is the specific one you are sure you have if you dont know anything about these i suggest just going to a computer store to upgrade it for you might cost more but lessens the risk of breaking it.

What's with the windows 10 installer? And the bootable flashdrive? Do we need to purchase them before applying or installing SSD? Why?

I prefer doing clean install of windows because there’s often bloatware or software I dont need when I get a new pc. You can use an image or clone your data or a backup if you plan on upgrading your ssd

You don’t have to do a fresh windows install. Only if you prefer it that way. Others often clone or image their pc and load that since they have a lot of their files and programs set up

Yes it’s possible to do clean install even on new or old pc even without changing ssd. I recommend backing up your data first though or image or clone

I would run cpu z on it to see what motherboard and cpu socket you are dealing with.. Also check task manager. I've never tried swapping the cpu on this one.

Nope. It just makes it more clear. You can load an image or backup too. As long as you are familiar with your drive

Most lenovos come with the hard drive bracket but it depends where you bought it. Some computer shops remove the hard drive bracket. The lenovos i have bought from Amazon and best buy included their brackets even though it had the ssd and no hard drive

It’s more of a budget basic use for this laptop. Depends on the configuration. It won’t run anything major like warzone very well

Hey bro its me again i've been wondering if lenovo ideapad s145 can be use when the battery is not conected in the laptop because some of my friend sudjesting to remove my laptop's battery and just yung the charger to let is stay on, So before i do that I want to know from a pro like if it is safe to remive the battery and use it?

Faster boot up and read and write speeds compared to the original hard drive installed. There are many configurations to this laptop so you might have an ssd already
