Assume it has been advertised! Should hear something this week i’d imagine. In fairness to Groves I think he has actually got something out of the lads since coming in, results might not suggest it but we have def looked better bar the first half vs Wexford at the weekend, and even then he wasn’t afraid to make four subs at HT that brought us right back into it. We’re just not a physical team at all and are going to struggle with set pieces all season.

@@Chronicles_Of_WApersonally I have to disagree, first half away to Wexford was really poor, and overall Vs Cork the game could have been 7 if they broke out if 1st gear. Fair play to groves stepping in when hendo was sacked, and peers left club in the shit only 12 hours after advertising he was interim manager….(Peers clearly saw something he wasn’t happy with to quit) also peers gets on his pro licence by getting the Longford assistant job and the pisses off, thought that was poor from him. I feel he stepped away because he was offered interim and not the actually job, knowing he’s only standing in until someone else takes over for him to be let go after that. So maybe he was right to jump before he was pushed. What are Longford looking for in a manager? Experience? Youth with new ideas/freshness/interim rest of season? If the 3rd Loi Lg was in now Longford would be seriously looking at relegation. Personally I think they should give fresh blood a chance introduce more local lads, train in Longford and build something for the town, this Longford club playing in Dublin business isn’t and hasn’t worked so maybe the fresh route, loads of up and coming managers ready for opportunity. I would like to see Anthony Elding given the opportunity, when I watched his Longford teams over the year it had everything fans would want to see on the pitch. Didn’t he do well for the club in recant years. Reliable source, Heard the club approached Gary Cronin to return and he said no. I feel the like of Shane Elworthy etc will be very difficult to keep at the club next season as this been going on too long, he’ll end up at bray or somewhere next year. Groves has stood in credit to the guy but I don’t see drive and passion form him or the team TBF. I know Stephen Kelly well former LTFC player and he would love to see Anthony get the chance having worked with josh his son few seasons back.

@@SERIOUSLY12319I would tend to agree with this also, personally I would like to see freshness at Longford Town Football Club, and Elding given a go, the guy obviously knows the club from past involvement and clearly has affection for the club as he’s been at the last 2 home games I believe. Why not, what’s to lose.
