This video is a overview and demo of the SSL 12 audio interface. It is also compared to the older SSL 2+ interface. #SSl #audiointerface #homerecording
Just got an SSL12 today. I had been shopping for an interface for several months now coming from a Focusrite Saffire. There isn’t a ton of marketing or buzz over the SSL12 but there should be. I have zero complaints and the sound is indeed right on. Great review!
I see the eleven rack in the background. Do you still get much use out of it? I'm kinda moving away from mine mainly cos support in windows sucks. eleven rack editor doesnt work anymore, even after fresh installs I just get a blank window. sometimes its not recognised in windows etc. Just showing its age basically. Reason im looking at an SSL video is cos I think i will replace the 11R
@@irishRocker1 I only use the eleven rack for getting quick guitar sounds when recording. I just plug the output from the 11 rack into a line input on the SSL interface. I’ve never tried to use any eleven rack software. I have a couple presets that I like and it allows me to plug and play quickly.
Good question, i don’t know much about RME. I’m sure its great. The SSL is about half the cost and has a total of 4 mic preamps as opposed to 2 on the Babyface.
None of the gear in the desk is being used. The only outboard gear that I use is the wooden rack to the left. It has a power conditioner, 1073 style preamp, and an eleven rack that I occasionally use for recording electric guitar. The rest of the gear belongs to someone else who worked in the room previously.
I’ve never used the feature but the SSL 12 does have ADAT in to control 8 more inputs via the software if you wanted to expand. I think it works with the Focusrite or SSl Octo preamps etc
