Basically, everyone that played SSX Tricky before the Original SSX are saying it's better because they are so used to its gimmicks. I personally played SSX 2000 before and never got used to Tricky. I still play the original 15 years after its release. The game was one of the best launch titles on the console, it was a great time to be alive :)

yep.. original ssx took way more skill and was groundbreaking. still play it. tricky is great too but not ssx great.

SSX Tricky was my introduction but honestly it's not hugely different to this. I'm impressed with the quality given how early this was released!

Yeah; The original SSX was a more balanced effort. Racing mattered as much as the tricks. SSX 1 and 3 are the best in the series.

i remember trying to get as far as i could in demo on elysium alps before running out of time, i could just reach the end of the half pipe with the glass walls.

I wonder why sony didn't ask EA if they could make a remake of this for the PS4 it WOULD make the console even better just make the game exatly like it was just in HD

+RSKIs YourDoom You're probably right, there's a lotta love for the original SSX and also Tricky. Mind you they made that one SSX game a couple years ago and it didn't sell very well..

Gee Tee Ye that would be a good reboot for the series since its changed so much it would be good to see it go back to its roots in a complete HD remake of the original

I guess that will never be the case :/ The EA Sports BIG Studios closed in 2008. The last SSX released was made by ea sports and it was not anything near the original SSX Games :(

The new games got too real, I like the fictional stages smashing through office buildings n shit. By the 3rd game you just go down a hill. So original.

I feel you. Though 3 is my favourite, 1 and Tricky were a pure burst of imagination. During SSX3 (or after) there was potential to combine styles and make a "fantasy mountain" of sorts. They had concept art in 3 showing lots of ideas, tropical forests, haunted theme towns etc. Just imagine passing through all these different themed places on a full mountain run. Going through a lush jungle, then a techno futuristic course, then a theme park or something. And be able to mix and match your routes to the bottom and go through different courses/areas - with all of the creative shortcuts and ideas of the first 2 games.

I remember owning the demo of that game. Good times. Back in the day when playing the same stage 50times because you only had the demo was something I did. :D

@dacepe Heh yeah, back then I only had two games, this and Gran Turismo 3. I played the heck out of both of them. I still have the old SSX save, and there's no way I can get even close to my old records :P

Hah yeah I would do the same thing with the demo on my mate's PS2. That demo is pretty much the reason why I bought a PS2 - so I could see what was beyond the half pipe!
