Wasn't just Hema back then that sold Lima, seems like more shops sold it under their own name. Quite a good range back then and affordable prices too,. Combined with all the accessories that made for lots of action to keep you busy for hours. Great video.
Thanks for this info and feedback. I had never heard of Hema or other names for Lima products. You are right, looking at Lima catalogues I was surprised to see a large range of interesting accessories. I do have a train wash and a loco shed, but it is hard to find their accessories used and at reasonable prices.
@@St.AndrewsStation Hema was a Dutch department store that is still running today. I know Germany sold Lima too since I had an N scale set that was sold under the name Quelle. At fairs here you can still find tons of the stuff at fair prices too if you have a keen eye. Secondhand sites will list tons of it too but it's a shame that people tend to think it's gold since it's old. Newsflash, the locomotives will almost always need new motors but complete sets can be a bargain. I mean, brand does sell a complete trainset with intermodal terminal and crane nowadays? If I would switch back to HO from N I would just buy complete lots of this old stuff. The tracks may not be much by todays standards but one euro for points or freight cars is still a bargain😁
