I had to hand chisel the grooves for my saint Andrews cross cause i dont have power tools, it was odly relaxing and really helped with my anxiety at the time.

I've always enjoyed working with wood, that's why I became an electrician. Now that I'm retired my wife has expressed a desire for me to build some restraint "furniture" such as your spanking bench from your other episode. I've been building shelves and now a workbench for my new shop, but I am doing it all with an old cheap 7 1/4-inch hand skill saw. There is rumor that I may be receiving a compound miter saw for Father's Day. I'm pretty sure the kids don't have any idea what I will build with it, nor does the wife have a clue what I might be spending on woodworking tools in the near future, but I think I'm seeing a green light up ahead. :)

Router was the correct way to go. To use dado blades on the tablesaw would have been precarious, make a jig patter for multiple projects. . Good vid!

They... whoever "they are" ... ...consider 11° reclining on the cross. Supposedlly that angle is the tipping point where the subject must lay back against the cross and cannot raise themselves UP off the cross. Very nice workmanship. I am a fan of the holes with the steel pegs through them. When I build mine I include a foot board to stand upon 90° to the cross that moves to adjust to the kickstand angle.

Did my first half lap on the cross with multiple skilsaw cuts and a chisel .got the slide compound saw now should be easier.

You're making it too hard other than drilling the holes to get the angle of the feet build the damn cross set it on the ground throw a two by four mark it there you go no measurement of angles at all just make sure that you have the same distance on your cross on the North and the South

That might be fine for females but male crosses need to be made double thickness to withstand the weight and the impact. Have you ever made one with double thickness? and able to stand up to heavy impact. If so please send photos. I use to have a steel cross and it worked great but it had to be sold. My new Dungeon Needs a cross and I am looking.

Mider saw doesn't have a 70 degree setting so what number did you use on the saw

The "average"cost of a well made St.Andrews Cross is probably in the $ 750.oo range. You might find an unfinished onbe for around $ 500.oo ALL prices vary. Shipping can be cost prohibirive
