Great video buddy, a demo of implementing the library and the sketches would be cool!

can you do a basic tutorial on how to get started with ST anything? i already have the DTH's setup i used auto linking to Dan's github to setup the DTH,i have the proper versions of arduino IDE and the boards manager installed i have the libraries installed f and i have the example sketches installed to my sketchbook from the github repo , but i am clueless on what to do next , i want to use wemos D1 mini's to make just a sensor only , PIR or RCWL radar but no clue on how to proceed or use the smart app or which example sketch i need for my board or how to edit the code so that it functions as a stand alone sensor only

I'm about to add an ESP8266 to my electronic dog door, so I can try and record that process. But your best bet would be to use the "search this topic" option on the ST_Anything post for Wemos. I've seen a few people having trouble that were able to get it resolved. Dan is really good at responding.

@@Thesighnpainter i did that and came up with nothing , there is absolutely no documentation on how to to use this project at all , he gave detailed instructions on how to get the DTH installed and how to setup arduino IDE but then nothing beyond that on how to actually use it so i have no clue what i am supposed to do next here, someone should do a video on the basic setup , like which example sketch to use and how to get the devices added to ST after you get the sketch uploaded to the board

@@andreamitchell4758 I started with the ESP8266 multiples sketch and just deleted the sensors I wasn't using. I can send you the sketch I used for this project.

@@Thesighnpainter ok thanks so when you say deleted the sensors you were not using do you mean in ST or that you edited the sketch? what happens if i do not edit the sketch? does everything show up automatically in ST? i have no idea how to even go about adding the stuff to ST after the sketch is uploaded to the board , it never tells you, i though t read something about a smart app but then i also thought read that you don't need it anymore so not sure if that is old information also not sure how to edit someof the wifi credentials in the multiples sketch like how do i get the device IP if i need to enter it to get the board on my wifi? do i leave it blank and then try to see if it shows up on my client list? also not sure what i am supposed to enter for DNS server, is this an optional thing? do i leave it blank? same with the hubitat hub IP , i don't even know what a habitat is, do need to delete this from the cone or change example, IP or just leave it alone? there is just way too much going on here, i wish he just made some simple example sketched for people who just use ST and who just want a single thing for a single board

@@andreamitchell4758 haha wow! Yeah they do kinda gear it towards people who have already been playing with the Smartthings IDE. First step is to edit the sketch to match what sensors are on what pins, and change the WiFi credentials to match yours. If all goes well after upload and it connects to your WiFi, you should see in the serial monitor that it's connected. On the smart things side, all you have to do is create a new device and select ST_Anything as the type. Once you create it and open it in the Smartthings app, all you do is put in the IP address and it will automatically detect what sensors are connected and configure the device children for you. When I get home from work I'll send you my sketch and you can compare what I changed. Ignore anything Hubitate related if you're using Smartthings.
