I have a Saint Bernard and would never shave him. Its wrong to do so unless they need to for surgeries and other injuries. If anything it'll make them hotter because the sun will reach their skin rather than their fur. All they need is a good brushing. Edit- if you carry on shaving your dog, its coat will start curling and looking like a damn poodle rather than a fluffy Saint Bernard. It doesn't matter whether you live in a hot country or not, its just wrong.
@@sudhadarji2410 They don't need shaving, I'm not making it up. Let's put it like this- if you're out in a heatwave and you're wearing a jumper, you're gonna get hot. You can't take the jumper off so your body will cool itself down to adapt to the temperature. That's why you sweat in hot temperatures. It's the same for a dog. How would they cope in the wild if they constantly needed their coat shaving?

Bro, we never shave our dogs coat. Its biologically wrong practice. Its a myth that dog can stay cool with their coat shaved. In fact, dog undergo shedding cycle in which they loose their heavy coat ( grown in winters ) and gain lite coat. This liter coat keeps their body cool as they trap air from environment. Dogs dont need hair cut. They have their own mechanism to regulate their body temperature. With his hair cut now, you have just disturbed this well balanced and natural temperature regulating mechanism.
We live in southern Spain and our boy sheds his undercoat when it gets hot, we have never shaved him, he is walked in the early morning and late evening when its cool. and kept out of the sun like our other dogs (old English Sheepdog, Calalonian Shepherd Dog)
She is still lukin cute😘 But the best part for me was the end where I got to see snowy as I love labradors crazily😘 Snowy reminds me of my lab who's no more😭
Bro I live in kathua (j&k) near lakhanpur u might know. I'm planning to get a st Bernard . But I'm confused wheather he will tolerate the heat bcoz temperature here is 80% like Delhi. So should I go for single coat or double coat. St. Bernard is my fav. Dog
Your dog just like any other breed is undergoing shedding. What you needed was to provide her with a good brushing session with Furminator brush. All her heavy dead coat ( grown in winters) would have got separated and the new inner coat ( absolutely imperative for natural mechanism ) would have left behind. I understand for a giant breed like ST.Bernard, this can be time consuming but shaving the coat is 100% poor decision on your part.
As a dog groomer i would personally never shave my st bernard. I do do her sanitary area and trim and tighten her feathering and haunches but that is about it. Plus i live in Texas & my st attends doggy daycare year round.
I have shaved my Saint Bernard (Daisy), now I'm getting worried about her fur, will it grow back or not? how much time will it take? Can suggest some hair growth suppliments... please reply it's very important for me @wildly_Indian

Bro do a vedio reguarding owning a ball python in india as the care required for a ball python might be different in india ans compared to western countries due to the weather Thankyou
That's a nice option, even I got my Late St. Bernard's (Cuzo) coat shaved. This is very much required considering India's harsh summer where temperature could reach up to 45 degrees Celsius.
Hi Akash, I have a one year old bitch Labrador... This is my 1st dog, so I have no experience... uski bohut shedding ho rehi hain... to use kya Theasa ki tarha shave karana chahiye?
Its really good for her.. All her matted fur gone and she will get new fur... Theasa will feel relieved from ticks and matted fur.. Please take care of her well.. She is a kind girl..
Can u suggest a perfect and a proper complete diet plan for pupies...like my pup is 35 days old only and its my first time... having a dogggo with me... it would be great if u help the new people in this dog field.. thanks your videos are truly helpful..❤️
I'm getting concerned all the people in India who have Saint Bernards. Some of them look like they don't have a/c in their houses. Please tell me you have air conditioning :/ :/ :/ :/ :/ :/
Jab dog heat m ata ha toh problem nahi hotah please ak video banaiea jesma aap baatai ke jab dog heat m ho toh khy problem hotah ha or ussa kaisa solve kare 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
I own a 150 lb female long haired St. Bernard. My groomer told me to NEVER shave a St. Bernard. She said their hair will never regrow to it's previous state.
My groomer told me the same thing for my mastiff/ rottie mix. I wanted to trim his coat down one year, not as short as in the video but a little shorter then his natural coat and they informed me that the coat had the double insulation. And it would be worse for him in the heat if I cut it down.
Tushar Bagul if you want to or brush the heck out of her once a week works for heat waves in England and my boy is bigger than a "normal"sized st bernard so I have to brush him about 2 a week sometimes. Hope this helps.
Bro a house in my street has a saint bernard but i always see him alone... I feel really bad because they tie him in a corner in courtyard and chill inside... I never met tht dog cuz i cant go alone to meet him and my parents r afraid tht dis big dog can b aggressive....Can you tell how will tht dog react on seeing me cuz i think he is now used to live alone...he won't be aggressive right??
I have a st Bernard. Do not shave it's hair!! It is meant to have its hair on!! If it's too warm you just need to put your dog in a cool shaded place and give it loads of water. DO NOT SHAVE!! st Bernard is a winter dog.
The owner z sick. Rather than brushing nd grooming regularly the owner preferred to shave off the coat making the dog prone to infections. The coat acts as a natural insulator for the skin.
Some dogs usually do nakhra while getting into the car . I must say theasa is so cute without bothering you she got into car. theasa is definitely matured baby. She knows daddy ko tang nahi Karna chahiye
Mr. Kumar Not everyone has a dog and not everyone knows about the breeds and their coatings and all. You might know but I don't and I am not ashamed of sharing it. I have been following this page from past few months and observed Theasaa as a cute dog with full of coating and hairs all around. So, didn't knew why this was done to her But now I know Btw I don't wear jackets in summer but I am sure you will because knowing one thing about a dog doesn't mean you are a PRO and no one is bigger than you. Mr... So and so get some more knowledge and do come back and let me know more about Theasaa. 🤗 Bye.
jwathas it's because of the heat idiot,st bernards are rescue dogs in the cold mountains. And you're calling people idiots but your grammar is bad don't start a sentence with because.
I had once cut short by GSD's fur during the hot summers all I thought was I was doing him a favour. But afterwards when I saw my pups almost bald body I totally regretted my decision
You're dog is super cute and you love her without a doubt, but this is just not beneficial for the dog.. never shave a double coat of a dog, the hair is also protective against the heat and sun. Cool your dog with keeping him/her inside and have plenty possibilities to cool off (eg like a pool). We have a Saint and live in The Netherlands and even here lately our summers are getting quite warm, but never as hot as in India ... It is like most people said already; these dogs are not meant to live in those hot climates. :-(
Shaving is not good for dogs. RU-vid mein wrong concept spread maat karo. I thought you know everything about dogs but it is sad that you don't have any knowledge k shave karne se dogs ka jo normal heat resistant power hota hain wo break ho jata hain AND also I subscribed bcz you are Anindita's frnd. Ku6 karne se phle research kar liya karo. Humesha show off karne se wrong concept sahi nhi ho jayega. I'm also pet owner, breeder, trainer. 24*7 I've doctor facilities for my babies. They strictly forbid to shave even Google search karne se v clear ho jayega tumko. *IT IS NOT A HATE COMMENT* *I LIKE YOUR VIDEOS*
No, usually people advise not to because once you completely shave your Saint it can ruin their coat. After shaving it can be very hard hair and more shedding. But if you cut about 1 inch of hair it will usually be fine! Clipping it down can make them cooler.
