In this bonus scene from the Renaissance Unchained, Waldemar shows us one of the most unexpected sights of the era. In the Chiesa della Santa in Bologna sits an intriguing sight; the body of St Catherine of Bologna. According to tradition, it was exhumed and put there and it has preserved itself without any human intervention. Worshippers still come today from far and wide to pray to her as the patron saint of artists.

I'm a Christian and a artist, but I'm not sure weather to be highly disturbed with the fact that we can still look at her body today or intrested. Honestly the idea of anyone sitting outside a grave is a little sad to me.

She was busied for a while first, and the sweet smell emanated from her grave, so the authorities investigated and found her body incorrupt. Only the did the nuns keep her in the abbey..

Whether they are inflicting it (the Inquisition), revering it (eating the body of Christ) or believing bits of bodies bring blessings, it keeps its followers afraid and therefore ready to donate millions throughout the ages, to ensure eternal life in heaven.
