You were saying the rod was high dollar so I did a search and boy you were right, way out of my fishing budget, glad you are happy with it, hope it gives you many good catches.

I saw the clip on IG when I was at the gym and was like I can't wait until I get a chance to watch the video. As always no disappointment. Definitely broke that rod in well. That rod sounds awesome. Love the way the handle looks. Love when you said if Batman had a fishing rod, that would be it. And I agree because bruce wayne is loaded 😂 Nice first impression video. I love that you and your wife both watch! That makes me smile! Those NRX series rods are pretty high dollar too. I've always liked the St. Croix rods and I love their warranty program. One of the reasons I buy their brand. I love fishing in south FL and try to get down there as often as I can. It's a different environment down there.

Good video Leola. Like you, I think the Shimano Vanford is an amazing reel. Just got back from a Lake Erie smallmouth trip. And I used the Vanford for my jerkbait rod. Cast like a dream. Nice clip of the swallow tailed kite. I’ve yet to see one in Maryland. Occasionally they are spotted here.

The vanford is a glorified piece of plastic, move up to a daiwa airity if you want a real reel. Dont get me wrong, the vanford isnt a bad reel necessarily, but its not worth the 250 euros that it costs here.

I prefer the lightweight vanford to any other reel I've held. Every ounce counts when my autoimmune disease decides to hit my hands.

WOW Ola ! Your recording is amazing ! So clear and timed just right. What resolution and fps are you using and is it from the gp10? Hope i can get as good as you someday.

Thanks Izzy. I'm using external audio mic on the hero 10 that's in the chest strap. Then I sync / mix the three or four camera sources and create the multi angle. Much MUCH more work but I think it's totally worth it.

St Croix is a blast from the past, old school name. I've been very happy with my Houston based, "OLD 18", designed for kayak...very short butt. they are moderate $$$...200>>>350 ish.

I have never heard of Old 18. I do know that St. Croix has a line of rods designed for kayaks but I really don't care for them . Super heavy.

The only rods I ever used before I started Bass fishing were the Ugly Stik rods. Boy did I have a lot to learn. I've never heard of the All Star or Falcon.

That front edge/corner/end of the handle - My St Croix is the only rod I have like that, even the blanks and rods I have from the '60s and '70s are tapered at least a little, even the ones with the reel seat's nut. I just checked.

Yeah, my Avid X is tapered nicely. Not sure why they made this edge on the Xtreme.

Sweet rod ... I have a daiwa whipping pole 12' that's very similar to that type of pole very quiet the cast and extremely strong but not stiff enough to have no action with lure in the water. And feels like a feather in your hand 👍 it can cast out up to a 16 ounce lure ....

I know the bass would is outrageous with there fishing tackle because there's a lot of money in it lol . I'm very use to heavy duty poles for the boat lol . I run 200 lb test on my main poles lol

Yes that's correct. It's really out of my price range but St. Croix let me do a warranty "trade-up" when one of my spinning rods broke.

I have the avid x med 7’ ft I am with you I love mine but they are coming back out with the new Avid x rods I don’t know it’s the same material I love cork handle not a carbon handle

I prefer a cork handle too but this carbon with a texture is very nice too. I love how short the handle is. I have come to love this Legend Xtreme even more than the day I got it. Superior rod with so much sensitivity.
