such a shame over the last 10 - 15 years all the quaint little hand made ornament type shops were gradually replaced by clothes shops and cafe's. I last visited St Ives 3 years ago and it was a shadow of its former self, it used to be somewhere to go and see the glass blower on the corner and maybe purchase some of his products, opposite you had the shell shop then all round the back street you had various little shops selling hand crafted memorabillia now its either a cafe or high street clothes store

I really want to move to Cornwall I love being in the water and living in leicester we have nothing closest beach is about a 2 hour drive just to see brown water zero visibility i never knew England has nice beaches with clear blue water another great video can’t wait for the next one.

Thanks for watching. Everywhere has its good and bad points. I love living in Cornwall but property is a nightmare down here and jobs tend to be seasonal so it can be quite difficult to survive down here. As long as you don’t mind not earning a great deal then it’s the best place to be. The plus side is most activities down here and free to do if you have the equipment yourself so you have to spend too much to enjoy yourself. Thanks for continuing to watch my videos. 👍

St Ives is great. It’s funny because this video was one of my early ones and there’s so much I would’ve filmed differently if I did it again. But this video gets so many views. Probably because it’s st Ives 👍

@@bangalicreative yes absolutely planning to get over there once lockdown is lifted and we can travel a bit further. St Ives is only a 40 minute drive from my house but it’s not worth the risk at the moment.

we want to move to cornwall from jersey channel islands ,looking at redruth area for jobs and property affordability but i would love to settle in st ives ! its so much like jersey in places ,looking to re-locate in summer 2022

Oooh very exciting. St ives is lovely but to be fair just living outside is just as good because you can make day trips. If you lived in st ives you wouldn’t get much for your money and parking would be a nightmare in the summer months. I live just outside Falmouth and it’s only a 20 minute drive to St Ives. You could probably get a 4-5 bed house in Redruthfor the price of a 2 bed in St Ives.

Can anyone tell me what the water is like? Is it warmish or freezing cold at st ives?

It depends on what you call cold. This time of year the water has started to warm up. It’s a bit of a shock at first but once you’re in you’re in.

The Warter is suberb clear blue and sand white. Says exactly wot says on the tin. Wot you see is wot you get. Nothing like the North Irish Sea wot so ever 100% number 1 UK place for holiday season

kristine prigo we managed to get a space down in the car park by the train station. We were pretty lucky. It normally the first one to fill up then we walked to each beach. You can always park at the top car park and get the bus down however in 2020 it up to you if you want to use public transport. Else it is a long walk down and back up.
