Get all the crap mapped out...... dpf removed and mapped out. Egr mapped out..... add blue mapped out...... it will feel a totaly different van and won't get lssues from there no more
When you filled it up was it only 60 quid worth? I guess that van probably takes about £80 worth? therefore you was not empty and the AA guy only put a few litres in I guess
I'd agree with most of the comments already posted. Never go below 1/4 of a tank, ever. I've seen transits go from 100 to zero in a matter of miles, and that was at the end of a long journey. Find a new, decent garage as there are some around that are simply not capable of fault finding, possibly through lack of experience, but I think you've been 'had' at various times with this van. Saying that, Ford garages aren't much better. At least my local one isn't. Not sure i've seen this mentioned (as it's not related to this issue but just a heads up), have a look on the menu on the dashboard to see how many trips you've done with a cold engine. Two up from the miles remaining, then across to the right, then up or down. In the manual it states to drive them for at least 20 mins at high revs once a month (I stay in fourth every time I get on the motorway for 20 mins, as I don't drive mine often.). This should then clear the message (assuming there is one and I have a feeling there is). Driving round the back lanes of Cornwall, as lovely as it is, is just no good for a modern diesel engine if that's all you do. Doesn't matter on the manufacturer either. Hope this helps 👍
Even though my new Motorhome (VW Crafter base) is new I ALWAYS top up when I get to half a tank. Initially filling it up to the top is expensive but after that I'm only ever half filling it. Having run out of fuel in an awkward place in my car I never want to go through that again.
We bought a Chausson motorhome on a ford chassis and it was nothing but trouble. The fuel injectors were faulty and during the repair, the mechanic dropped something into the engine which resulted in catastrophic damage and we had to have a new engine fitted!! We did get our outlay reimbursed by the garage eventually but we were so traumatised by the whole process we sold the van at a loss :-(
That torch is great for small yachts. You know the sailing version of van life. Huge battery consumption so im assuming big battery capacity gives it a longer life. Wonder if its rechargeable though?
Love my 2008 Mk7 Transit. Bought it 18 months ago, converted it to a day camper & drove it to SW France & back, a pensioner on my own with my dog without problem❤💪🥰
Yes yes pls do the quick cheap van build! Hubs and I are just about ready to buy a van and the cheaper and quicker the build, the better. Could you also post links to your equipment--like your cooker. Thanks and cheers!
Hi, please help me - I’m looking at a similar van to this as a stealth camper - and am concerned about insurance cost in the uk ! Can you give me an idea as the insurance seems a little odd over campers
30 years ago, I would have had him eating the ground. Edit: A few years ago (2017) I was making a breakfast in Ashdown Forest, in Sussex. Two women, walking their dogs reported me to a forest ranger. He told me I wasn't allowed to cook in the forest. It was a damp September morning. I made him a bacon sandwich, and off he went. Your biggest enemy are the locals, they should be living in East Germany before 1989.
We've got an IVECO 7.5 Ton Horsebox. We've run out of diesel before, and it was showing a quarter tank still. Took ages to get it to start. I had to take off two diesel filters, fill them with diesel and keep cranking the engine. I will never buy another diesel vehicle for as long as i've got a hole in my rear end.
I've got a Ford Mondeo. All Fords now are bloody crap, that cost a shed load of money to repair. My car is now on the market. I cannot believe the cost of parts. I used to do all my own repairs in the 1980s. Give me a Mk 4 Cortina.
Honestly, me and the good lady love watching your videos. Great to see a local lad doing so well. We've gotten loads of ideas and tips when completing the day camper conversion of our beloved Peugeot Expert van. Yep! I said Peugeot 😆 Anyway, your videos keep getting better and better! Love to your family and keep up the insanely good work Shaun 🎉🤘🏻
Yea sell, start afresh, your van has a recurring problem and in my experience, these never seem to go away and drain your finances! Good luck with finding a new one, there's lots out there, Vauxhall seem to do nice ones with windows at the back too. xxx
I've just bought a sprinter MWB , very excited . Loving your channel I'm very local to you and I spend many nights free camping in Cornwall . I make a few photography videos BUT I don't name or share sneaky spots off the RU-vid radar . The spots you visit in the video I have been too over the years . Let's try and keep a few spots quiet please .
