We will visit by land next spring for a different perspective. We saw little of the city itself.

We live off of Black creek and keep our boat at Doctor's Lake Marina. You have done more investigation of the gunkholes of the St. Johns than we have ever considered. Thanks for the cruise!

Glad you are following. Our little boat prefers gunkholes to open water.

When I was young, my family always spent a week at Lake George fishing during Christmas vacation. My uncle and aunt lived in Jacksonville. Fond memories. Your trip looked like an adventure I would enjoy.

Great content my friend most of my boating has been confined to the west coast of Florida as I've stated before. In my younger days I did a fair amount of sailing and even you do without motoring it's amazing the amount of marine life you see shark, sea turtles, Manatee not to mention just large amounts of fish schooling. Thanks for the ride along always look gireardvto your posts.

I love to fish on the Trout River pier in Jacksonville. There is a cool railroad trestle that when a boat needs to pass it spins like a turntable. There is a diving school there as well

When you get off the st johns river onto the intercoastal waterway heading north on sisters creek it's beautiful trip through the marsh grass. If you need a break before you take the trip jim king boat ramp has a free dock just past the park parallel to a side creek.

Wait a week for Part8 of our trip to be uploaded! We did stay at that free dock,. It was great and lucky it was there because it was so windy.

A couple years ago we went past Trent U on the Trent Severn waterway. The rowers weren't out that day. It's a real team sport.

Phase 1 of the riverfront plaza project will include replacing the bulkhead and be completed sometime in 2025 after completion of Phase 1 I'm not sure if they will allow boats to dock their while they continue with Phase 2 my next video will be this project where I go into more detail on the channel Jacksonville construction projects. I have done a lot of boating around the west side of the Acosta bridge. Tarpon run in this area of the river. They like all the mullet. I have never seen any sharks here, although I am sure the river holds hundreds of them. I have seen plenty of dolphins here, they also like the mullet, however they snack on the trout. You may have seen a Dolphin if the back only breaches then just down real quick, shark fin rides on the top for a good distance.

@@thomasjanssens2275 The fin slowly rose and cruised some distance, then slowly sank. Was darkr in colour.

@@oldhobo5610 I do not doubt you at all, my girl friend caught a Bonnet Head Hammerhead under the Fuller Warren Bridge. There are tons of fish in this area when the mullet are running. Big Tarpon, Big Red Fish and Big Stripers are all over this area. Around the bottom of the Matthews Bridge we caught a 5 foot Bull Shark on Cut Mullet.

You likely saw Dolphins not sharks. They frequent the downtown area for meals.

@@andyhamilton8940 We saw several dolphins but definitely one shark, which I have read is not unusual in that area.
