Thank you for sharing your sermon on this wonderfully talented and devout Saint. Never heard of him before, but my goodness, he's inspiring! Viva Cristo Rey!!! ✝️🙏♥️
Our priest gave a great homily on this wonderful Saint today. I knew nothing about him previously but I think he’s going to be one of my new favourites. I’m really looking forward to this upload
Lawrence of Brindisi (22 July 1559 - 22 July 1619), born Giulio Cesare Russo, was a Roman Catholic priest and a theologian as well as a member of the Order of Friars Minor Capuchin. An accomplished linguist, in addition to his native Italian, Lawrence could read and speak Latin, Hebrew, Greek, German, Bohemian, Spanish, and French fluently. Lawrence was ordained a priest at the age of 23. Lawrence was beatified on 1 June 1783 and canonized as a saint on 8 December 1881.

Because of the hype of education and literature, recent generation were deceived in searching God by reading instead by prayers. A great mistake considering He is close to all equally and experienceable.
Excellent sermon, however the priest conflates (5:25) the Holy Roman Empire, which was a loose Germanic-Italian coalition in Western Europe with the Eastern (Byzantine) Roman Empire, which survived the fall of Rome and the Western Roman Empire in 476 A.D. They are two distinct entities.
