St. Louis Gateway Arch Elevators / Trams / Washing Machine Shaped Thingies :) 

I've been up to the Arch a couple of times before. It was a lot of fun. My father refuses to go up there since he has a fear of heights. My mother told me the arch was being built the first time she went there when she was a child.

Great video, I'm from Indiana and got to visit the arch today!

I've been on these several times... never thought of them as "washing machine shaped thingies"... lol

Nice video.

There is an emergency elevator... You can see it right as you start to go straight up. There is a green exit sign above it which I couldn't see in this video. The stairs are probably for tram failures and fixing the lights (When I was little the lights were all those "Caged light bulbs" that construction workers use. They made the whole trip this bright orange color instead of orange near the bottom and this creepy pink ish color near the top...)
