Come along as we explore the hilariously sketchy Kiener garages in downtown St. Louis. I've been filming these elevators for years, but I've never given a full tour of the facility before... [Featuring Dan (CVE9120) and Dan (SchindlerHaughton)]

The store I work at in Kings Dominion (which was built in the early 70s) has that same window in the stockroom as the ones in that garage. It is a miracle that they haven't been broken yet. That bridge that connects the two garages looks like it used to be for cars, would I be wrong? It seems so pointless.

Can someone say "Postmodern 1950s architecture at its finest"?

Why does St. Louis have so many parking decks in literally one spot? I mean Milwaukee has half as many downtown parking garages compared to St. Louis and most here are a lot smaller.

+MKE Aviation And Elevators St. Louis was hit harder by the whole "live in the suburbs, work in the city" trend back in the 1950s to 70s than most cities (in fact, the population of the city is less than half of what it was in the 1940s). During that time, downtown was reconfigured to support commuters with the addition of tons of parking garages to go alongside the newly-developed highways out to the suburbs. They did overbuild, and as a result, downtown St. Louis is a very easy place to find parking.
