I live in Victoria British Columbia. It is interesting to note that we have some similar gun batteries here that were built in 1895 They were to protect against invasion by the Russians. For more information try contacting Parks Canada ask for info about Fort Rodd Hill.
Another quality video, gents. I always look forward to your videos on Fridays. I don't watch it until I get to work at night, and then it's my treat for completing the weeks' paperwork. And I'm never disappointed. That fire in the deep shelter must have been terrifying - there must have been a draught through them once the fire took hold, and the hot air rose, and cold air rushed in to fill the gap, with the staircase forming the chimney. There was a similar fire in the Goodge Street Deep Level Shelter in London.
Another great vid. Keep up the good explores. At the fire site, the grey collapsed area floor looks melted from the heat of the fire. It would have been very hot to weaken structural steel and corrugated sheet metal to effect the collapse. Wonder at what temp chalk melts?
Awesome that at least some of the past has sort of been left intact for people like yourself to document on video. Sure must have been some great engineering people with the skills to build or even plan any of the defenses and underground safe places around your country. Great vid guys. All the best
how cool would it be if the Batteries became part of the National Trust or some sort of charity, and they installed replica guns in their original position and opened it up as a learning experience to the public. Such an amazing piece of British history just left to decay, which could attract so many people.
Great video again mate, gotta ask what torch do you use? Been in need of a good one for years. Keep up the great work and its nice to watch youtube and learn for a change!!

A great video from you guys, a interesting place and so much history to see, its a shame that all the places like this can not be opened to the public but I suppose were do you start and then finish. Who will also put up the cash. it's good you have got in before it's closed for ever. well done for that...
Ain't it sad that these place's are not maintained i'am sure they could get an income which would keep these place having them open to the public and i think there would be more than enough volunteers to help out :)
Looks like some that brickwork, concrete could of been started and constructed for WW1 you can sometimes tell the year or decade of the work by the brick bonding if its "Dutch" or "English " bond by the coursing of header/ stretcher bonds.
Your videos are always good and well presented . It's a shame people have to vandalize these places they would be more interesting and fun to explore if they were in their original condition.
in the 80s i slept there for one night-i was a Punk and on the way to london-the hotels had been to expensive-some punks from dover showed me how to come into and stay save ;-) a creepy night!
I wondered where those little buildings were at the start. Is that near the south casemates? I will go and have a look myself if it's easily accessible? Great video again 👍🏻
I did a Titan I silo video and people wished death upon me for not wearing a mask. Mask littered the outside entrance and all they were was cheap painting ones....LOL Wouldn't help anyways from asbestos. I'm willing to roll the dice on health....not like I work in those conditions every day, once in a blue moon isn't going to do anything. Funny how people get all worked up in what others do. *shrug*
Great video guys I could tell that brickwork was ww2 it looks terrible, lol those tunnels look really creepy you allmost expect a soldier in a redcoat to walk past. Thanks for upload chaps
IKS exploration. how do you get such good lighting in your videos?? when I got into shelters with a camera and a torch the footage all turns out dark even though the exposure is turned up

Are these the tunnels that are Up by the Battery? I'm sure when I went down there a few years ago there was day light at the end of the tunnel(perhaps leading to the cliff face). I'm sure my friends and I saw it and then turned around. I distinctly remember hearing a ferry fog horn which felt like it shook the whole tunnel so we swiftly make our exit.
the graffiti i respect is the stuff that people left here from when tunnels were used in WW2, not spray paint from 2009. is it just me? in my eye mindless graffiti is vandalism in historical location!
+Metal Man I think you made a valid point. To us its depressing to see but for people who see it say 100 years from now like you say, it might be interesting. It's a shame that these locations aren't sealed off and even used for tours which then creates revenue to upkeep them. I know some places already do, do that though. It should be mandatory I think.
the unlined part at the end of the tunnel could have been for security if they were getting invaded all they had to do was blow it up and save troops tonight another day
IKS Exploration Thanks for that. I didn't realise that the tunnels were now permanently sealed. I thought that they HAD been sealed, but you and Chris had found an unfeasably small entry point (some of those are astonishingly small), and got in so we don't have to. And I'm glad you do. Nice one.
they may have used a steam boiler system watch is a lot more piratical, so there would of be dead steam/water, when the steam cool off ,, and had to be drained out at some point, the advantage over water boiler system is , if a bumb hits and cracks the pipes you dont get water all over place. the steam pipe can be patch and ready to go in no time ...water boiler system you have to refill and bleed air out of the whole system pain ass :)
IKS Exploration I have been there once and there is a big white arrow on the hill that use to help bombers fined their was back to Bristol after their bombing runs over Germany pretty cool
It's so sad seeing all that graffiti! If it were engravings/chalk writings from the period of the Underground bunkers it would be different! I just find it so disrespectful :(
I have messaged you on facebook and Instagram about a bunker you have not yet visited !! my name is obviously Mitchell on fb and Instagram its xxcoleman_mitchxx
