Welcome home Cory! Dr. Brant Pitre is a great Scholar to learn from. He has a way of breaking it down for us kitchen table theologians. You may also enjoy watching Catholic Answers, or maybe Pints with Aquinas with Matt Fradd. It helps to build a Catholic community, and a friendly place to have your questions answered. May God bless you my friend while on your journey home! ⚘

" True citizenship...in the Heavenly City with Christ.....our ultimate Home." That is truly beautiful and if we keep that as our desire, then the desires of earthly things will mean nothing (like St Thomas Aquinas said after his vision of Heaven). Thanks Dr Pitre for your wonderful inspiring videos.

Excellence and Perfect timing. Just when I had woken up talking about the baseness of human nature and our reaching higher. In our human poverty God Loves us So So much we must try to love others as much as we can in imitation and reciprocity. How can we not. Thank you Dr. Pitre and team, for guiding us, for blessing us with your wisdom. For the accesible knowledge and words. Our Father works through you and I thank him and love him. Thank you Father, love you, amen. Ps. I went to Barnes and nobles and finally bought one of your books.

Our culture is generally growing increasingly accepting of abhorrent behaviors especially sexual preferences. We as Christians have attempted to define Christian values, in contrast, by their opposite rather than the values themselves, namely the Beatitudes. Because of the stigmatization of sinful actions, evangelization becomes that much more difficult. By focusing on the Beatitudes, the uncatechized are attracted by the way we live and by the care and compassion of Christians. Let their sins be forgiven rather and avoid defining them by their sins. They are not to be ostracized to the point of being condemned. When St. Paul preached the word to the gentiles, he was inviting them to metanoia, conversion out of the love The Father has for all his children, not only the children who had received a solid foundation of Christianity and were well formed in the faith. Sent out into the world without the necessary tools to fend off and to fight the ways of the world, without the means to provide one's most basic needs, many young people resort to moral and ethical compromises. This is where satan enters, surrounding the baptized with the lives of the unbelievers, where satan inhabits the lost. Yet, this is not the end of the story of our faith. Christ returns again and again, in search of the lost sheep. Our Lord tells us that (para.) "The Father promised that not one of the ones who was given to me would be lost."

Life's about Christ or YESHUA HAMASHIACH. Catholicism is the fullness of divine truth. How can we not attach Ourselves to Catholicism?.

Saul of Tarsus suffered a stroke followed by an NDE (a near death experience) and started a new religion. The Jewish authorities and the apostles were not happy with Paul conversion.

Water baptism does not save,house Cornelius is prime example and acts chapter 8. Simon the sorcerer. Christ is reigning in us,the holy Spirit is the comforter.
@peter_hobbs
@peter_hobbs Год назад
Catholic apologists have addressed these points multiple times. We hold to the Word of God as Catholics. John 3:5 Jesus says “unless one is born of water and the Spirit…” aka baptism. We don’t seperate the two as Catholics and say there’s 2 rebirths, one by water and one by the Spirit. No it is the one rebirth. The Holy Spirit had to show St Peter gentiles were now to be included into the household of God and thus worthy of baptism. Acts 8 doesn’t prove that Simon the magician hadn’t had a rebirth by water and the Spirit, only that he’d not been confirmed with the Holy Spirit, and that it’s possible to do wrong after our justification or possibly that he received the sacrament insincerely. Yes God can work in a person’s heart before baptism, but the ordinary means of salvation Christ gave to his Church was repent, believe and be baptised.
@frederickanderson1860
@frederickanderson1860 Год назад
@@peter_hobbs Paul says regards baptism under Moses in 1 Corinthians chapter 10. So you can't say you baptized.into your church and are saved. You baptized into Christ not any church. The Greek word in Matthew 16 for church is not our modern use of it,it means called out.
@peter_hobbs
@peter_hobbs Год назад
@@frederickanderson1860 yeah that’s right the Catholic understanding of baptism corresponds with Paul’s. We as Catholics are buried with Christ in Baptism and raised with him to newness of life by the power of the Holy Spirit (Rn 6:3-4).
@frederickanderson1860
@frederickanderson1860 Год назад
@@peter_hobbs if yiu read the scripture l gave you you reading it with Roman Catholic spectacles. Paul was giving a lesson on Israel water baptism and they all took of the same blessings , read the full chapter. Israel is the true people of God, not your dogma of supercesssion. Apostle Paul again refutes your church fathers on being the continuation of the apostles. We gentiles are grafted into the olive tree, a wild olive branch. Epistle to the Romans chapter 11: 11- 31. So dont boast against the natural branch of Israel . That they are enemies of God.
@peter_hobbs
@peter_hobbs Год назад
@@frederickanderson1860 yeah it’s amazing that we are grafted on the olive tree, but also that we are the living temple of God, Christ’s body, his bride, the Church, with the earthly visible head the pope. As Paul writes, for we are all one in Christ.
