It's not really meant as a sign of evil, it's meant more as sign of disrespect towards christianity/christians. It's regarded as evil because it's considered evil to disrespect christianity.

To all who don't think Peter was the first pope, look up a lineage of popes from Peter to now Francis. Second in the list is Linus, third Cletus, then Clement I, Evaristus, and the list keeps going. Also note that the first 30 or so popes were martyred, just to give you some much needed history. This papacy is part of how the Christian Church has survived for so long (with the guidance of the Holy Spirit of course).

A Noman To A Pope To A Saint
@cidermillchristianfellowsh5810
Saying Peter was the firs Pope is like saying John the Baptist was the first Baptist. This imagined theology has been claimed by the Catholic church for years, and represents the false hermeneutic often employed by this organization. Peter was not a pope. He was a poor fisherman who fell in love with Jesus and surrendered his heart, the same as the other apostles. (except the traitor Judas) - The truth is there is no such thing as a "pope." The pope is a created position developed by the wealthiest man-made religion in the world. (as noted by the online store above pawning religious junk) Don't buy into the religious propaganda this organization constantly pumps out into the community. Read the Bible for yourself. God can and will reveal Himself directly to you - without any so-called mediator. "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus." (1 Timothy 2:5)

Peter did not deny Christ after his death he denied him when he was condemned. According to the gospels Christ ( Jesus) died on the cross. Peter denied him while he was in prison being beaten and tortured. Read the Bible properly and ask questions if you don’t understand and stop misrepresenting Peter.

The catholic believe that Peter is the first pope in Rome. But if we read the Word. Peter was never called to be an apostle for the Gentiles. It was Paul who was the apostle of the gentiles. Rome are gentiles. And the most where the catholic got it all wrong is the verse mathew 16:18. The rock does not refer to Peter. It refer to Jesus himself. If we look it in greek. Jesus said first Peter which refer petros and the rock refer to Petra which both has completely different meaning. Jesus was just confirming on what Peter had answered that He was the son of God and on that Jesus will build His church. Based on that Jesus said upon this rock i will build my church. The rock is God himself. He just gave the key to Peter to help and support the church. And Peter was never there in Rome. He was mostly in Jerusalem and Antioch. If we read throughout the bible we will see the truth. What the catholic believe is based on false claim. It is out of blibical context. Read 1 Corinthians 10:4. We will know who is the Rock. And infact right from old testament we know what Rock represent. Its God himself. Those who knew greek will truly understand the verse mathew 16:18. Peter was not the first pope of Rome. Logically, Peter was never called to be a teacher to the gentiles then how can he possibly be a pope for Rome. And the fact, even the bible doesnt even support that his present was strong in Rome. It was Apostle paul who went to Rome for Paul was called to preach Jesus in places where no one has heard of Jesus. If we look to the history, it was Gregory the great who was the first Pope.

PETER AS FIRST POPE Matthew 16:15 -20 15.He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? 16.And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Messiah, the Son of the living Yahweh. 17.And Immanuel answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. 18And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my House; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. Catholics teach Peter as the Rock, when Yahweh is the Rock. Isaiah 2:10-11 10. Enter into the rock, and hide thee in the dust, for fear of Yahweh, and for the esteem of his majesty. Romans 9:33 "See, I lay in Zion a stone of stumbling and a rock of offense; and the one who believes in Him will never be put to shame." Psalms 18:2, 31, 46 2 Yahweh is my Rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my Mighty One, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower. 31 For who is Almighty except Yahweh? or who is a Rock except our Mighty One? 46 Yahweh liveth; and blessed be my Rock; and let Yahweh of my salvation be exalted. Psalm 19:14 14. Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart Be acceptable in Your sight, O YAHWEH, my ROCK and my Redeemer. Psalm 62: 1 My soul finds rest in Yahweh alone; my salvation comes from him. He alone is my Rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken. Ephesians 2:20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Yahweh Messiah Himself being the chief corner STONE; Now you can see why Yahweh is the Messiah's name. 19.And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Verse 19, I believe was added by The Papacy for proof of their power, since it comes from Peter being the first Pope in their teaching. Read Matthew 16:15 -20, but exclude verse 19 when reading it. You will see how it all ties together more properly. 20.Then charged he his disciples that they should tell no man that he was Yahweh the Messiah. Peter was married.Popes are not married. Matthew 8:14 And when Immanuel was come into Peter's house, he saw his wife's mother laid, and sick of a fever. Luke 4:38 38 And he arose out of the synagogue, and entered into Simon's house. And Simon's wife's mother was taken with a great fever; and they besought him for her. Peter refused worship, Popes want to be worshiped. Acts 10:25-26; 25 And as Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him, and fell down at his feet, and worshiped him. 26 But Peter took him up, saying, Stand up; I myself also am a man. Religiously speaking, call no man your Father. Matthew 23:7 Tradition is outside of Scriptures, which Catholics use to fall back on when they cannot explain something, Mark 7:13 Making the word of Yahweh of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye. Peter was sent to the Jews, never went to Rome, he went to Babylon. Paul was sent to the Gentiles, he went to Rome. FIRST OF ALL THERE WAS NEVER A PERSON NAMED JESUS WHO BECAME YAHWEH THE FATHER IN THE FLESH. Starting with Constantine: Constantine is the LITTLE HORN/ POPE OF DANIEL 7; Constantine was the one who killed off the last of the Elect of Yahweh Messiah with the 11th Roman Emperor Persecution, all that were left were our pagan forefathers and why Constantine started Christianity to put them all under one heading that of Christianity. In the fourth century, the Roman Emperor Constantine united all pagan religious factions under one composite deity, Hesus = Ea-Zeus, Ea was the diety of healing, Zeus a sun diety; Chrishna, Krishna, Christos, Christ, another pagan sun deity, ; Constantine and his pagan bishops made the scriptures void of salvation by putting pagan deity names and words into the scriptures and taking Yahweh’s name out; Constantine is the one that gave the pagan names Jesus and Christ, also Lord and God to believe in to deceive the world. Constantine was a sun worshiper; Constantine propagandized the scriptures; Constantine is the one that gave the pagan names Jesus and Christ, also Lord and God to believe in to deceive the world; Constantine in 331 A.D. had the 50 of his pagan scriptures done in the GREEK and the only ones allowed at that time. The Fifty Scriptures of Constantine were scriptures in the Greek language taken from the Hebrew and were commissioned in 331 by Constantine and prepared by Eusebius of Caesarea. SUN DEITY NAMES USED WITHIN CHRISTIANITY AND MOST PUT IN THE SCRIPTURES WHICH PROVES THAT CHRISTIANITY IS OF SATAN: JESUS, CHRIST, ANGEL, AMEN, ADONAI, LORD, GOD, BIBLE, SACRED, (HADES, HELL - DEITIES OF THE UNDERWORLD AND SUN DEITIES TOO.) I heard a priest on the radio 3/16/2022, say that he got to see the oldest complete bible in existence today with all the books, made in 332 A.D.when he was in the Vatican Library. Then he brings up Constantine and said that Constantine had 50 scriptures made,he mentioned nothing about Constantine having them done in the Greek though. If they still have Constantine's then it seems they would be holding on to the originals That Constantine had used to put his into the Greek. In 405 A.D. Jerome put Constantine's into the Latin, which became known as Jerome’s Latin Vulgate the only scriptures to be had for over one thousand years locked up in the Latin tongue and the common person did not know Latin. In 1516 Erasmus puts the Latin back into the Greek, which they are calling the original Greek today to cover-up that Constantine already had them made into the Greek; He orders for the destruction of the writings of any opposition, and for the immediate execution by the sword of any citizens preserving illegal literature via actions of either the hiding or secreting of scrolls or codices. Imperial extortion was increased by the implementation of empire wide Chrysargyron (Poll-Tax); Constantine physically severed the wisdom of the Second Sophistic from his new empire, and fashioned by Codex what was to become the Third Sophistic - The New Testament; Constantine was the one that renamed the New Covenant to what it is called today, the New Testament, so they named the Old Covenant, the Old Testament to also follow suit; Constantine changed the Roman Empire’s government from secular over religious to religious over secular; Constantine started the Babylonian Religious Government System that is out to rule the world, the Papacy; "The papacy is but the ghost of the Roman Empire, sitting crowned upon the grave thereof." Constantine became the first Pontifex Maximus over his Christianity, which is traced back to Nimrod, the first false messiah who started paganism and turned his back on Yahweh. Which is the High Priest over all deities, where the number 666 comes from. The Emperors were over all religions in the Roman Empire and they also held the title of Pontifex Maximus, which Emperors were over Secular and Religious government, then Constantine changed that to Religious over Secular, If you control the government and religion, you control the people. Constantine was the first Pope over Christianity. Constantine revealed who the “Man of Transgressions”, the “False Prophet”, “anti-Messiah”, the Pope / Pontifex Maximus. 2 Thess. 2:; Constantine made Christianity the State religion of the Roman Empire that engulfed all of humanity at that time. IT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN, BUT WORLD WIDE. Constantine built the Temple of God, in the 4th century which is inside the facade known as the Dome of the Rock, that the last Pope over Christianity will put his throne in and say he is over all deities and a deity in himself and will want to be worshiped. 2 Thessalonians Chapter 2. It started with Constantine that this became totally Satan's world at that time. The only time in human history that Satan could deceive the whole world (Rev. 9:12) is between the last persecution by Constantine that killed off the last of the elect up to the 7 Year Peace Plan when salvation is given again, right after WW3. Constantine did away with anything to do with Judaism. "You should consider … that we should have nothing in common with the Jews." It was Constantine that made Sunday the day of pagan sun worship to to be the Sabbath for the Christians, which has always been a pagan religion. It is the Papacy through the years that has made everything a lie. It was Constantine that used the word CATHOLIC meaning UNIVERSAL for CHRISTIANITY. Catholic as a denomination did not exist until 1559 at the Council of Trent. It was Constantine that used the word CATHOLIC meaning UNIVERSAL for CHRISTIANITY the religion. Catholic as a denomination did not exist until 1559 at the Council of Trent, to counter the Reformation, the same reason that the Jesuits were started and the making of the Catholic Douey Rheims in the English made from Jerome's Latin Vulgate. Emperor Rome became Papal Rome on October 28, 312 A.D., Constantine exchanged the EAGLE for the CROSS: I WILL END THIS PART HERE EVEN THOUGH THERE IS SO MUCH MORE TO TELL! B.C. AND A.D. What Does BC Stand For? BC is our acronym for Before Christ. AD stands for Anno Domini, Latin for "in the year of our Lord." What is the history of AD BC notation? History of the AD/BC notation: The AD/BC notation was first proposed by the monk Dionysius Exiguus (Dennis the Little) in the year 525 CE. He used it to identify the years in the Easter tables that he prepared. 525 WAS BEFORE THE CATHOLIC DENOMINATION EXISTED. YOU CAN SEE IT ALL CAME FROM THE PAPACY.

This claim is entirely based on catholic tradition; Historical fact 1. The first authentic reference to the word 'pope' was regarding Marcelinus in the 3rd century AD. 2.' mono espiscopos' ( one bishop per church was not practiced till 2nd century. 3. The bishop of rome ( Sylvester 285-335AD viewed as in 'Peter's' line of succession) was not even present at the all important council of Nicea 325AD when the first phase of the 'trinity' dogma was accepted. 4. There is no emperical evidence in secular history that Peter was ever in Rome or died there. (Paul wrote epistle to the romans and never mentioned Peter once. 5. James was the first church leader during the apostles day. That Peter was the first pope was an invention of Rome when people had no bibles to check on them. If Peter were alive, he would ask who is this who is so who heads up an organization so unlike the principles of Jesus.

@@italianoetnico.calabreseve9262 You actually think Jesus contending with Peter three times to reverse Peter's denial of Jesus three times is an actual "I'm giving you the control of the church" scenario? How can no evidence be evidence? I do wish people would test the so-called scholars with the Bible, instead of as though these same scholars had some authority when they go outside the biblical record, we would be more careful in quoting them I am sure. Can you tell me if this fellow Kelly was an undercover (Jesuit) agent of Rome? Without looking him up, what did he mean, and where is his evidence for Peter being an "undisputed leader" of that church? Did he present any evidence other than these questionable ones mentioned so far? Or was he one of the type who made a statement without any fact, then expected the sheeple to just go with the flow, and not question the validity of his statement? These questions need to be answered if we are to discover and believe the truth. Truth is, the Bible tells us that before we should believe a doctrine or so-called biblical point, we should have more than one text to explain the meaning. For example, we have many texts in Scripture that tell us that when we die, we rest in the grave until the resurrection; and that when the Bible uses terms like forever and eternal in relation to the punishment of the wicked, it uses a Jewish idiom, meaning that as long as the thing it describes lasts, and in the case of eternal, it means the effects of the action described are eternal. Classic example Exod 21:6 (look it up) regarding the servant - does this mean that either the master or servant will live on forever, and the servant be his servant forever? It means only as long as either the master or servant shall live on this earth. Another classic example of letting the Bible explain itself is found in Jude 7. According to how some interpret the word eternal (as we commonly do today), Sodom and Gomorrah must surely still be burning. In those days, they used these terms to mean the effects were eternal. There is nothing left. Sodom and Gomorrah are gone, and we might say there is nothing left but a dirty great big hole in the ground, much now of which perhaps, forms the Dead Sea. There are a whole stack of these kind of texts, but don't expect the Roman Catholic Church to help you find them, because centuries ago they adopted pagan concepts of an eternal living soul that must endure punishments equally eternally in the most cruel of places ever imagined. The vilest sinner like Hitler for example suffers the same fate as some little girl who died at an early age with just a few sins. Also weird if you think about it, is that the majority of people who have ever lived are going to be there, and God places His arch rival, His greatest enemy in charge of such a place. All this despite the biblical texts saying God will make an utter end of sin, and it shall not return (Nahum 1:9) and God, seated on a great white throne (Revelation 20:11) judges the wicked who are raised in a resurrection of damnation (John 5:29) to receive in person their judgment, and the wicked DIE in a lake of fire which is called the second death (Revelation 21:8) which is clearly denoted in direct opposition to life (John 3:16; Ezekiel 33:11; James 1:15). We ignore these, and many more that clearly show that God is not such a fiend, that He should condemn both the small sinner, and the greatest criminal to the same fate of burning in unspeakable agony for all eternity, and by His might and power, keeps the fires stoked up to cause that terrible agony for that same eternity. The Bible definition of what happens because of our responses to His mercy in the here and how is much more in keeping with a loving God of the Scriptures. We need to use these same principles in the discussion on Peter and the church also. The truth is that when Jesus spoke to Peter in Matthew 16:18 he termed Peter as a small stone (Greek - Petros), and of Himself, the rock of the church's foundation, Himself, using the word (Greek - Petra) which is used to describe a massive immovable rock. Search the Bible from cover to cover, and you will find numerous instances where God and Christ are described in analogy form as "rock". Look at Matthew 7:24 and you find Jesus is the rock upon which the house must be founded. Nowhere do you find any such reference to Peter. I implore you to be founded on the rock Christ Jesus (1 Corinthians 10:4). Even Peter himself tells us who is the real rock upon which we must be founded. See 1 Peter 2:4-8. And Paul agrees with him entirely. See Romans 9:33. May we not be like the Israel and Jews of old who stumbled at the real Rock of salvation when He was in their presence, but join with Moses when he said: "Because I will publish the name of the LORD: ascribe ye greatness unto our God. He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he." Deuteronomy 32:3, 4.

Peter in fact never calls himself a Shepherd, but encourages others to be like Jesus, the Shepherd. Likewise it was Jesus who declared Gentiles were to enter the Kingdom. And Peter who Insisted on resisting Jesus. Saying surely not. But Jesus told Peter not to call unclean what Jesus made clean. Limewise Peter declares Jesus the Rock. The passages used to rebut the Roman Catholic papacy descended from Peter: John 1:40-42: 1) Andrew is the first one to recognize Jesus as Messiah. 2) Jesus already named Peter "cephas" (rock) when they met for the first time, before Peter's confession in Matthew 16:18. 1 Corinthians 1:10-17 (12): This passage addresses divisions within the Corinthian church and can be cited by some non-Catholic Christians to argue against the idea of a single supreme leader. 1 Corinthians 3:10-11: Jesus is the only one who laid the foundation of the church Matthew 18:18: The apostles have the same power Jesus granted to Peter in Matthew 16:19. Matthew 20:20-22: Question about Zebedee's sons', John and James's positions, implying that the apostles didn't think Peter has the unique supremacy power. Matthew 20:20-28: This passage contains Jesus' teaching on servant leadership, and it is sometimes used to argue for a different model of church leadership than the hierarchical structure of the papacy. Matthew 23:8-12: Jesus' words about not being called "Rabbi" or "Father" and the exhortation to be a servant are cited by some as critiques of hierarchical titles within the Church. Acts 2:42: They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, not to person. Acts 15: This chapter describes the early Church's response to doctrinal and practical questions. Some non-Catholic Christians point to the council in Acts 15 as an example of a collective decision-making process rather than a top-down papal authority. After this chapter, Peter is never mentioned in the rest of the book. Ephesians 2:19-21: The church is built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. Ephesians 4:11-13: This passage speaks of various roles within the Church, including apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers, and can be cited to argue for a more decentralized leadership structure. 1 Peter 1:1-3: The regions mentioned in the verse, including Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia, are all located in what is now modern-day Turkey, not Rome. 1 Peter 5:1-4: This passage, written by Peter himself, emphasizes the role of elders (presbyters) and encourages them to be shepherds of the flock, which can be seen as supportive of a shared leadership model. Galatians 2:9: Paul pointed out that James, Peter and John are three pillars of the church. Galatians 2:11-14: This passage shows that Peter was not infallible and that he could be rebuked by Paul. Ephesians 5:23: This verse teaches that Christ is the head of the church, not the pope. Colossians 1:18: This verse teaches that Christ is the head of the body, the church. 1 Timothy 3:1-7: This passage describes the qualifications for elders and deacons, but does not mention the pope. Titus 1:5-9: This passage also describes the qualifications for elders, but again does not mention the pope. In Romans 16 (~56 AD), the apostle Paul sends greetings to numerous individuals in the Roman Christian community, but he does not specifically mention greeting the apostle Peter (Cephas) in this chapter. Paul wrote 4 letters to the Roman church in the year of 60-64 AD. , never mentioned Peter. Peter's martyrdom is traditionally placed in the reign of Nero, who ruled from AD 54 to AD 68. How many years Peter was with the Roman church?

God is the bedrock (Lk 6:47-49), Christ is the chief cornerstone (Eph 2:20, 1P 2:6), the head of the corner (1P 2:7, Lk 20:18), the only foundation (1Cor 3:11), the apostles were pillars (Ga 2:9), foundations of the wall of the city (Rev 21:19-20) which were lively stones (1P 2:4, Rev 21:19-20) - you and I are lively stones (1P 2:7) and can be pillars if we overcome (Rev 3:12).

Peter is not a first amongst equals, he is greater in authority than the rest. “The Lord says to Peter: ‘I say to you,’ he says, ‘that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my Church, and the gates of hell will not overcome it. And to you I will give the keys of the kingdom of heaven; and whatever things you bind on earth shall be bound also in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth, they shall be loosed also in heaven’ [Matt. 16:18-19]). … On him [Peter] he builds the Church, and to him he gives the command to feed the sheep [John 21:17], and although he assigns a like power to all the apostles, yet he founded a single chair [cathedra], and he established by his own authority a source and an intrinsic reason for that unity. Indeed, the others were also what Peter was [i.e., apostles], but a primacy is given to Peter, whereby it is made clear that there is but one Church and one chair. So too, all [the apostles] are shepherds, and the flock is shown to be one, fed by all the apostles in single-minded accord. If someone does not hold fast to this unity of Peter, can he imagine that he still holds the faith? If he [should] desert the chair of Peter upon whom the Church was built, can he still be confident that he is in the Church?” (The Unity of the Catholic Church 4; 1st edition [A.D. 251]). @@franknwogu4911 The Bible doesn't contain a clear passage stating that all the disciples must obey Peter in the same way a ruler obeys a king. There are verses highlighting Peter's role, but others emphasize the shared authority of the disciples (Passages suggesting shared authority: Matthew 10:5-8, Mark 6:7-13, John 20:22-23) Recognizing Christ does not make Peter unique. In John 1:35-42, it shows Andrew was the first one to recognize the Messiah (that is, the Christ) and brought Peter to Jesus. In Galatians 2:11-14, Paul rebukes Peter publicly for his inconsistency and hypocrisy, implying that Peter's actions were not in line with the truth of the gospel. This is one evidence that Peter did not have absolute or unilateral authority within the early Christian community. Instead, it suggests a level of accountability and mutual correction among the apostles and leaders of the early Church. Here is the historical fact, the Roman church was just a regional church. All five patriarchates ((Rome, Constantinople, Alexandria, Antioch, and Jerusalem) only held significant influence within their respective regions. And, the Roman church, the only Latin church, never has the power to rule over the other four Greek patriarchate churches, which all belong to the Eastern Christian tradition (They have their own distinct liturgical traditions, languages, and theological nuances). Also want to point out, not the theological difference, but the Papacy, is the biggest obstacle to church unity.
