During the COVID lockdown I used to go 5 days a week for walks on the Pier and Promenade, there are VERY few cameras except right near the Pier itself and those are from an elevated angle. White Rock city council isn't Pro-Active, there should have been several more cameras installed by now, SO much money is wasted on other frivolities...

Could this be connected to the lax drug laws we have here in BC. Mental Health is a huge problem and could be contributing to these violence related issues we are facing. One of the many side effects of drug use both illicit and prescribed is aggressive behaviours and agitation. Just a thought.

Knowing the ability of BC's police from my own personal experience, "throwing significant resources at this" means "it'll solve itself." They don't have the resources and they have no intention of breaching any form of privacy to actually investigate this. They'll look at some street camera footage nearby, and that's about it. Maybe they'll ask for tips, but yea. From my own experience, even if they knew who the killer was, they'd probably have to ask his family for a list of his bank accounts as well as permission to access them. Anyone expecting CSI level crime investigations are high. It takes them months to get back anything like a test result. And that's just basic drug tests.

Mental health is what needs new laws, not banning guns.
