You mentioned that you'd like it if the laser was also a range fiinder. Laser range finders exist, and they can be as accurate as you want depending on what you're willing to pay for. If Stabila included range finding in this product, would it be worth an extra 1, 2, or 3 hundred bucks? One milimeter accuracy should be doable.
Thanks for showing us these tips getting close on my build. Waiting for slab blue prints and permit trying to watch as many of your videos before I start. I have a question I’m not sure about if l add iso foam board 1 inch board with fiberglass batts. It looks like you smash the insulation against the beams and screw down the siding if I add 1 inch iso foam it won’t smash will that make my building wider making my roof short ? It’s a prefab rigid building hope this makes sense. The buildings does not have an eve it has trim covers roof edge and wall thanks for the help.
New codes are requiring this 1-2" of rigid insulation on outside of wall girts. I haven't used it yet but I think it will be better and you will need longer screws. I would pour concrete the extra 2" wider and seal the insulation to slab before installing the panel. The panel would go past the slab 1" to keep water from coming under wall.
@@BuildingwithNARF .it makes the wall take much longer to build to.the tips you have to use for the screws also makes it more difficult.and the length of the screw along with what I said makes it much more difficult.just make sure your screw gun guys aren't rookie's
Whats up Fredrick? I have gotten one maybe a few months ago. Brand new, maybe im too dumb to use it? But i can’t get it to lock on. I do mini storage/metal buildings for a living. I seen the ease of how to square and shoot lines with this laser. But i can’t seem to get it to work like you. We typically do buildings from 60’x200’ and up. Maybe the laser doesn’t reach that far?
I have found that I need to be only 40'-60' to setup. Maybe the sunlight effects the receiver or it can be messed up with other items using wifi signals. Then I go to the other end and double check that it is where I need it.
Hey Fredrick. I purchased one of these. Do you have any trouble getting it to lock on in full sun? I have been trying to set one up at 150ft and it won’t find the receiver. Even in manual mode it can take 30 minutes or more. Maybe it’s just me? Just curious if you’ve had any problem with set up? Thanks
That's why I set it up in the middle of the string at first and then checked it at the end. The sun affects it and I think the transmitter may struggle at long distances when setting it up. Once it's locked in I don't have a problem at 120'.
@@BuildingwithNARF it’s pretty disappointing considering the price and the time it takes to set up , it’s weird though because a normal Hilti rotary horizontal Lazer will pick up the receiver in any conditions , why can’t a vertical squaring laser? Maybe it’s cause the laser isn’t spinning on the la180…. Also some people are saying they don’t sell the la180 in Germany anymore maybe german tradesman don’t have time for things that don’t work
