How about if the floating body is not a boat, but a dock and we place a permanent weight on the edge of one side, so there is tilt - but at a new equilibrium. How do you calculate different ways to "straighten" the dock back so its level again? (obviously without removing the permanent weight)

How do you determine that point of moving the COG that will cause the vessel to capsize? Ie how much weight will it take to tip over

please do not say "could tip over" if you are talking about tipping points then do it right. there is a point of tipping, if you surpass it you tip. its simple
