Nice review! 👍👍 I have a steel framed P and also a C2. I love the P for the range and the C2 for carry. You're right, the C2 is a little chunky in that role, but far better than my attempts to carry the P. No surprises there. 😅
One thing you might look into is the Extreme Shooters grip module in the video. This is actually my C2 featured and had I known before I bought the C2 that I was going to have to change the grip - I'd have gotten the P. The reason being you can swap these C2 grips out onto the P. It gives it a really unique look, you get the benefit of the longer barrel, and it's much, much more concealable with the smaller grip. I chose to go with the rounded bottom cut they offer as well on the grip and that helped with printing too. So since you have both, you may want to get one of the C2 sized grips - especially if either of them feel chunky in the grip. You can swap the C2 grip around to either one of yours and it may help with carrying.
Why have the back strap safety in addition to the safety levers ? Kind a like the dingus trigger which I find to be not desirable . Pretty gun. Thank you for showing it .
Why did your friend decide to change out the grip? I found the Staccato grip to be very nice on my Staccato P. I find it cosmetically pleasing and very comfortable, one of the best 2011 or DS polymer grips on the market , me personally...😎
I did it because the stock grip is too fat fot people with medium/small hands. Your hands are bigger than you think. The main gripe was I like being able to manipulate ALL of the pistols I may possibly carry in my collection one handed if needed. With the stock grip and mag release there was ZERO way for me to drop the magazine one handed without some really reaaaaally goofy hand manipulation. Plus this just looks so much better. I'm thinking about getting a P and putting one of these C2 ES grips on it because I really like the short grip long slide look and it would give a slightly longer barrel but still be concealable - whereas with the stock P grip I'd print BAD.
Hi there, the grip is the maximum small reduction along with the bobtail cut. If you wanted one of the ATAC camo color options like this but in C2 grip size they'll let you order it even though it technically isn't an option on the site yet. Just put it in the 'notes for designer' and you can order whatever you like color wise + I believe you can customize even further. Had I known before I got this grip it had all the silver I'd have personally requested they omit the silver altogether. I see it, now, in the desert camo pic on the site but originally it looked like it was just a lighter fde color to me.
@leshunter4409 Another thing to note is that even if you don't like the extended mag catch button - you will have to get the Gen 1 Dawson catch to go with a gen 1 ES grip if your Staccato has a gen 2 factory grip. And two, not that it matters much because if you're unhappy with the stock grip then it needs to be changed regardless, but this grip took over 6 weeks to get to me. They state a 3 or 4 week wait time if I recall correctly but it was just about 6 for this grip.
