Ask me how many times I've watched your Sand Hawk review... I'm going to watch this one just as many times. this usually happens when i want a certain pistol; reviews loop in a playlist until i have a physical copy. ...that's a lot of money to hide from my wife --I hope you're proud of yourself. 😆
I'm going with the XC every day, the price, looks, weight and not to mention the barrel/comp are made from one solid block of steel unlike the TRS, it's a two pieces system so durability. For the extra money you save on the XC you can add a 509t/SRO, a light and metal trigger and probably still be under the TRS.
With the nighthawk serrations are done by cnc. If you want more serrations that is extra but done by the gunsmith by hand no cnc machine. Both amazing guns!
Both guns are excellent, the Sandhawk is more elegant whereas the Stoccato is more workhorse. Brass tacks: The Stoccato XC (which can be ordered with a 4lbs trigger) with a Cheely metal grip is $5K ready for optics, and the Sandhawk is $5950 ready for an optic. In a perfect world, I'd own both...in the reality world the XC is the better value. I'd own both if it were possible though. Why the hate on Streamlight? Lol.
Awesome, detailed, and thorough review. As always and fun. Both excellent and superior handgun's. Two of the best and in reliability. Superior quality you will never forget.Personally I am going with the NightHawk Thunder Ranch Combat Special in 9mm. And will be using the Wilson Combat 10rd 9mm magazine's. Stay safe, Cheers
I would prefer a Sand Hawk but wait times are out to two years or beyond. Of the two, primarily due to availability, I’d pick the XC and run it hard until my Sand Hawk order is fulfilled.
The difference is the hand fit gun gone be a very tight gun for long as you own it and finish should be very tough, staccato is a great gun also it’s just production vs true hand fit, u will have a air loom type 2011,I do love staccato also it’s just in my opinion a fun race gun to sure enough run the hell out off, both shoot like a good fit glove
anyone else notice the weak/inconsistent ejection on the Nighthawk? yea, not for $6000+... i'm guessing it still needs to be tuned. and the lack of it locking back on last round was noticeable. even with the editing. the XC seemed to be more consistent locking back AND ejecting the brass. AND it's cheaper! XC's got my vote. good comparison!
I think the Staccato looks nicer but I'd much rather have the NightHawk. The closest I've come to a NightHawk is installing a NightHawk Custom drop in barrel into my 1911A1 Auto Ordnance lol. For me it's NightHawk Custom all day long. Gr8 comparo. 🔫 🇺🇸 🔫 🇺🇸 🔫 🇺🇸
You'll be surprised, check out Teamblacksmith channel, he has about all the 2011 comp guns you want or need and does a comparison video and the Sandviper was not even 2nd.
I don’t know maybe it’s just me or maybe it’s a Texas thing but the separations on the staccato look a whole lot like the ones on this here shadow systems, Pistola in front of me. Then again the night hawk reminds me a whole lot of an FN 509C both in baby poop peanut butter! I’m really kind of amazed at the sudden or maybe not so sudden interest on 2011’s. Once only the purview of competitors or the Uber-rich thanks to more and more manufacturers getting into the game - Like SA with the prodigy Triarc Systems and the Bul armory SAS II - competition drive down prices -albeit a little and increases choices for poors like me. Seeing that neutered 10 round mag makes me sad 😢. But soon - very very soon all those 15 and 30 round mags will be coming out from under the attic floorboards to breathe the sweet air of freedom 🇺🇸. The sickly sulfur stanky air of New Jersey Freedom!! I done Subbed up brother!!
@@TiberiousGib the Nighthawk man, I LOVE that finish .... I've got a Blackout Defense 13.7 in the clear ano and burnt bronze finish... The Nighthawk is the PERFECT pairing for it ... I'm getting one .. gotta sell a few pistols and rifles to buy it lol.. but I'm committed now lol... I wanna start shooting comps anyway, so at least that's how I'm justifying the purchase to the Mrs's 🤦♂️ ... don't get me wrong the Staccato (any Staccato) is amazing and I'm from TEXAS so it's made on my home state I feel a certain sort of loyalty to them .. but damn... that Nighthawk man 🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻
i wish MA had out door ranges like that. i believe the outdoor ones here (which u need memberships for all of em) u can only stand in your booth, cant walk around and shoot. cant wait to move down south lol.
You definitely have to get used to light triggers but once you do it’s no different, I went from CZ’s to Staccato so it wasn’t much of a change my CZ’s have 2.5lb-3lb triggers and I’m totally used to them
Big price difference between the two. The Nighthawk is more like an heirloom weapon with a lot of handmade and hand fitted art type quality of craftmanship. So a bit of apples and oranges conparison.
@TiberiousGib oh I guess I'm wrong then, last I checked or assumed the XC was like 3.5k and the Nighthawk was 5.5k . That's not too much of a jump to get a completely hand made and hand fitted gun rather than production fit and finish.
I saw multiple malfunctions and stove pipes with the nighthawk... Kind of sad he doesn't mention all the reliability issues with it when it gets dirty. Fishy
Great vid thanks m8. I just noticed a Nighthawk is not performing so well as I expected for this price tag, Im not sure if all what I saw was intentional adn dont get it wrong. But its ejecting pattern was really weak, Im not sure it its coz of weak load, but on other hand I presume you run both gun with same ammo and Staccato run like a champ, always slide lock back on last round (I thing several time NH did not) and due to weak ejecting in one brass jump and stuck back in to gun. Just what I saw I defenetely looking up to Staccato.
Just got the new wick gun 2 weeks ago nd ran 350 rounds so far no problem. If possible could you do a test between that nd the nighthawk. Now I did pay $8,100 for it so there's a difference in price but I'd like to see if it makes a difference between the 2 of them. Now I did buy as a show peice but I will be shooting it because that's what it's made for. Great video keep up the good work nd my next gun I definitely want a staccato because it does look like a good dependable beater....A 5,000 rounder easily with a Lil care....
i want whatever job it is that allows people to afford Nighthawks lol. my Staccato P is the most expensive item of any kind i own other than my car lol.
I own a staccato, and i have shot the nighthawk in competition. Both great guns, nighthawk i like the stock grip better. I like the aftermarket availability of parts and upgrades for staccato. I do prefer slightly the nighthawk, but its no where near twice the price. Both are premium guns, but you can have 2 staccatos for the price of the sand hawk almost and the nighthawk didnt have ambi safety.. Insanity at that price point to be honest.
@@TiberiousGib This should have been mentioned in the video… You don’t think your viewers would like to know that you had “a few stovepipes” during a 500 rd T&E? This was the first video I saw of yours, and last.
@@TiberiousGib I want to shoot metal are they available at both places? I am a member at Tiverton Rod and Gun and just shooting paper gets tedious after a while.
I own both. The XC for the money is almost impossible to beat. I added a Cheely L2 and Infinity Trigger. with those mods It put it closer to the Sand hawk in over price. The Sand hawk is a nicer gun overall. It needs nothing. Toss on your rmr and it will run and run and run and run.
I just can't see paying $3K for a pistol. For a duty rifle, that's reasonable. I just don't see the value in expensive pistols unless you're in competitive shooting.
@86keen I don't buy tools for the experience. A good rifle is a much better tool than a pistol could dream of being. So, i$3-6K for a rifle all day, but a pistol isn't worth that as an actual fighting tool.
A good rifle is better than a good pistol and it’s good to invest in a good rifle, however I’m ok with investing heavily into a pistol that I have a significantly higher likelihood of having on me when I need it.
Never shot either but after this comparison, I’d probably go with the Staccato: I like a more aggressive grip and gold front sights on the Nighthawk are pointless.
I love my XC, but there is no way in hell I would call it a “duty gun.” Immediately put 1000 rounds through it when I got it in six days and after only 300 rounds it was stove piping from being dirty. Once I got upwards of 800 it would stovepipe every other round.
so-so review - aesthetics edge definitely to the XC, though. nighthawk is a hugely overrated shop being propped up by youtube 'experts' - same thing with triarc a bunch of years ago.
Wait until you start shooting one! Only gun I shoot every time I go to the range. It’s amazing. I have several thousand rounds through it. Never had an issue. I keep it dirty and lubed.
Of these lemme get that Sandhawk. What even is the point of a 2011 in a ban state that only lets you have 10rds anyway? IF youre gonna obey the law that is. Also, plastic trigger on a $5k gun is...I dunno, I just dont like it.
None ! Aint no way a pistol should cost more than 1800$ even if the manufacturer quality is great the cost of making that staccato and nighthawk in materials are less than 300$
2.5 lbs on a staccato.. i don’t have any 2011s over 1.75 at most… 2.5 is that supposed to be good?? My copper head Glock clocks in highest at 1 lb 5 ounces lol… staccato is dog water with doo doo in it… and that’s with an oem connector
Wilson combat sfx 9 is as high as I can justify paying for a pistol. Thats my price ceiling. Both these pistols are nice, I just don't like grip safety so I'd have to go with an atlas eres in this price range.
You're right. I got to run both while doing testing for/at Leupold. There's only one way to settle it - own both. Seriously. They are both jewels in the 2011 world. "A person needs to own one of every type and model of firearm there is so he'll know what he needs two of." Guiding words to live by. @@TiberiousGib
10 round mags? Nah, I wouldn’t comply with unconstitutional laws like that. But, beautiful pistols. Why choose one when you can get them both over time?
